End of Season 3 (Spoilers) · 10:29pm Feb 16th, 2013
Okay, so let me be blunt.
I am a giant fan of Alicorn Twilight. One of my biggest head-canons, right next to TwiDash and Twi is an overpowered bad ass. That being said, I will try to prevent my canon from interfering with what I would like to say.
Overall? A wonderful episode, for the time that the producers and the writers had. The songs were perfect (Celestia had a SINGING PART! OMG!). The plot, for the most part, made sense. At least we know what that "black book" at the start of the season was all about. It seemed that Twilight was a little too eager to cast Star Swirl's unknown spell without knowing exactly what it did, but I would probably have done the same if an idol for unicorns everywhere had left a great spell unfinished. The emotion was spot on-- even if others will disagree, claiming that the characters were OCC. To be honest, this is to be expected. Their entire destiny was changed, so of course they were going to be OCC. I will say, I love Shining's "liquid pride" line. That was perfect.
I will agree with others, it was a bit rushed. However, that is to be expected, and with everyone hinting that Season 4 will contain parts 2 and 3 of Season 3 Finale, I am sure there will be more things explained. Do I think this ruins the show? Not in the slightest. The show was originally catered towards a much younger audience (a fact a few of us have seemed to have forgotten) and Hasbro has remained true to that ideal. To be honest, I've been waiting for Alicorn Twilight since the Cutie Mark Chronicles, where Princess Celestia clearly stated in Twi's flashback that she had never met a unicorn with so much raw power. It would stand to reason that a unicorn with as much power as Twilight (whether that power is untapped and untested or not) would eventually become something greater. Anyone who DID NOT see this coming eventually would have to be blind. Of course it did not stop all the negative feelings towards it, but still.
All in all, I'd say a solid 9 out of 10. I don't have much complaint except for the "rushed" feeling. Hasbro managed to exceed my original expectations for the episode, just like they have in the past. What do you all think?
On a side note, expect updates on Unity soon-- I'm having some issues with getting my work to save. I hope this problem is resolved soon. Cheers!

Hey, just read Unity and I must say that I love it!!! Great idea, great storyline and very engaging!!! I'm a Sparkler (a own-made word referring to fans of Twilight Sparkle) and I liked the season 3 ending. I can't wait to see where it's going!
I enjoy the idea that most fans have of Twilight being extremely OP and I must say that it makes her even more likable.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for Unity! Not used to seeing Changeling fics, but I'm liking what I see so far. Keep it up and I'll be watching Unity until it's finished!!!
888830 Thanks, friend! work has been slicing away my time schedule, but I don't work tomorrow. I plan to be writing from dawn until dusk and even later, trying to get Unity caught up to where I had wanted it to be by now.
Also, for Unity, it is my goal to see how much power I can pump into Twilight Sparkle and still have her remain true to her character. Fortunately for me she is unbelievably naive, making it so easy to keep all of her insane powers in check.

I love it!! Let's see how powerful Twilight can get before really bad things happen! I look forward to it!!!
