    Nuzlocke reborn

Yes, that's right, I am restarting my Nuzlocke challenge. With two crashes under my belt, I'm thinking third time's the charm. I will be running through Pokemon Diamond Version just like the first attempt, with all the rules in-place and as follows:

If one of your Pokemon faints, you must release it... it's dead.

Hope may be lost... · 1:39am Feb 16th, 2013

Hello everypony. *sigh* I might as well get to the point.

I think I might leave the fandom. It's not because I no longer like ponies, I love ponies, but what it's become is... hard to deal with. I mean, lots of companies have made bad decisions, SEGA for example, but what Hasbro is doing is just wrong. They are doing everything they shouldn't. They get money from us, and yet they push us away. They are biting the hand that feeds them, so I will stop feeding them.

Everything that Hasbro is doing is the exact opposite of what we want, but they don't understand that without us, they are nothing. Others are raging and flaming Hasbro, but I know they won't listen, so I'm thinking of giving up. I know that at this point, anything else Hasbro tries will just bury the series further into the ground, and the sadness at the thought of that is hurting, badly. I'll continue playing Copy.Data in the Nightmare Station fic, but other than that... no promises.

Hasbro, your avarice for control and your ignorance of those you wish to please has blinded you and you have massacred the thing that finally made you popular again. I doubt any of your persuasion could bring me back, since it won't change what is happening. Life is difficult and unforgiving, if I am not laughing, then I am crying, and I have run out of humor.

Best of luck, The-Pieman

Leaving the fandom is not the best option in this matter. True, Hasbro has been making the dumbest decisions recently towards Fighting is Magic and the fandom itself. Let's not forget however, they are the company that is after the money. They are not the makers of the show, merely the supporters of it through capital dollar. The makers of the show are not the ones that took down Fighting is Magic or have been neglecting us. No. It is their owner, Hasbro. What I say is stay in the fandom, but don't buy Hasbro merchandise or support them. They are the evil publishing company, not the game-makers themselves.

Take for example Mass Effect 3. The developers had a radically different ending planned out, but EA soured those plans for money. Support Bioware because they care, EA does not care.

I hope it helps because I hate seeing people leave the fandom.

Fuck what Hasbro is doing. The show itself needs as much support as they can get. And I wouldn't call Hasbro evil, they just don't get it. They go by statistics and what normally works instead of seeing what's actually been working. Even if the next season ends up being bad, we still had 3 great seasons to remember.

Don't leave the fandom because life is trolling you; ragequits only let the trolls win, and life is the biggest troll of all.

And if you don't believe me? Take a look at my life.

Don't leave the fandom, because at least the fandom still cares. As you produce no revenue for Hasbro anyways (you use third-party viewings, purchase merchandise from unlicensed artists, and buy music from non-corporate bronies) you don't actually contribute to Hasbro. They are making no money off of you, so you can't say they have much incentive to listen to you.

It sounds like you need to vent at someone, so if you're on soon, please come chat with me on Skype, I'm on right now.

And, at very minimum... think about the friends you've made here. Would you really leave them behind simply because you don't like Hasbro, a large corporation that is only surviving because it has to lower the bottom bar a great deal, has settled for moderate instead of nothing?
Hasbro is only surviving on the legitimate contributions of the portion of its fanbase with money, of which neither you nor I represent. And the few times I've bought something from them, it's in the $2-$6 range, which is hardly enough to change their trendings. And remember... Hasbro isn't Disney. Princess =/= Useless, so please don't make that assumption.

I don't want to leave the fandom, but Hasbro can't understand that we keep them alive and spites us with all that it's doing. I stay because I enjoy it, but Hasbro is intentionally making that more and more difficult.

831602 And 'Equestria Girls'? What about that? Also, they can't even get their toys right. Sure you can buy toys from the other fans for forty dollars, but the fan stuff is show-accurate. It's obvious Hasbro has no clue what they're doing, since their toys are crap. If they hired fans to make the merch for them, sales would skyrocket on their end, which is a good thing, but for some reason Hasbro doesn't want help from those they are trying to please.

831543 EA? Bioware? Sorry, I'm a Nintendo and SEGA gamer. And you already said it, Hasbro is the owner and what the owner says, goes. It's horrible because Hasbro is blind, they don't see that posting episodes on youtube and making games helps them by expanding accessibility. I don't have cable, so without the internet, I couldn't watch the show. They never understand that it's the fans that keep it going, and if they continue to make it worse, what can I do? I don't want to leave, but they make it so hard to support them.

831852 It's not about the Twilight episode at all, Quantum. Yes, I do use third-party sources, that's because it's the only way I can enjoy it. And what does Hasbro do? Force the videos to close and cancel the games. Without anywhere to find videos in decent quality due to the Youtube removals, I did something I've never wanted to do, just so I can watch the show, torrents. Because of Hasbro, the only way I can enjoy the show is through illegal means. I'm not proud of myself, I feel bad watching these episodes because I technically stole them, which takes away from the joy. But it's my only constantly reliable option.

833494 So what about Equestria Girls? It's a separate show that has nothing to do with the MLP.

833542 I mean it's a dumb idea. It's one of those things that shouldn't happen. You see, they are ponies, but they are also from another universe. As soon as they come into our universe, lots of things don't make sense.

Why are they human suddenly? Moving to another universe does not alter your physical form. Moving to another planet does not alter your physical form. Why are they not ponies still? Also, it seems too easy. If you suddenly went from living your entire life as a pony and now you're bipedal, there'd be lots of issues, you wouldn't just know how to walk or use thumbs. And how are they so in tune with human culture? I mean, the ponies are omnivorous, but we turn animals into clothes and kill them for sport, and they aren't questioning this at all? Just because you become human, doesn't mean you are human mentally and are fully understanding of local culture. If you are going to take very well-known characters, make drastic changes to their forms and put them in a universe that is radically different from theirs, you need to approach this realistically. They wouldn't be saying "Oh, cool!" they'd be saying "Holy crap, what the heck is going on!?"

There is fanfiction of ponies being human and on (our version of) Earth, but that is okay because it's non-canon, I ignored it because it had no effect on the actual show. But now it does, and the creators are not approaching this the right way, removing all sorts of realism from the characters' personalities. What about Rainbow Dash? Now she can't fly or affect the weather. Period. Every aspect of her life as she knows it is gone forever, and she's okay with this? I call bullcrap.

833978 I don't think it's even them going to another universe. This is just a universe where they're more humanized.

834039 Not from what I've heard. The information I've seen implies that they will be on Earth. Or that their environment is very similar to Earth. But that 'show' isn't the only reason. Hasbro has taken down YouTube videos, which is how I see the (original) show. It has come to the point where the only way I can be sure I can see the episodes is from downloading a torrent. Which I have. I do not like myself for essentially stealing the episodes, but because of what Hasbro has been doing, theft is my only means of seeing the show. Now do you understand? Without cable, YouTube is the only legal way for me to watch, but apparently, Hasbro is so tight-fisted with it's 'copyrights' that they don't want people like me to watch the show.

834806 People like you? The show wasn't on youtube through legal means to begin with, it was fans posting them on there. There are still episodes being posted on there, and you can download those by extracting the videos.

834806 And putting copyright in quotes implies that it's not real, and it's very real. This is all still in early development, we need to stop jumping to conclusions and give things a chance like people gave the show a chance and started loving it.

835675 I meant that they are worried about their copyrights, when we don't even want them, so they are worried about nothing.

835662 You overestimate the capacity of my computer. I can't just extract videos at will.

837349 Well I'm not a mind reader, so I wasn't aware that your computer didn't have a lot of memory to it.

837370 Yeah, I'm (unofficially) a video game programmer, which is a big deal, on top of all my personal stuff, and my mom's. Also, my computer isn't the best, it was considered kinda crappy when it was made in 2005. With how technology advances, at this point, my computer is a fossil. However, I made a list of stuff I want in a computer, and I'm going to have a new PC completely custom-made for fairly cheap but with some serious equipment. Until then, I'm stuck with a 2005 Hewlett Packard.
