I mean wow.
Just... wow.
So this Equestria Girls thing. Where supposedly there's going to be a spinoff where the ponies go into the human world, turn human themselves, and then do shit. In High School.
You know, I conceived a fanfic like that once. I didn't write it. Because it was stupid.
I mean, Ponyfall is one thing. At its core, I know its silly and, I'm sure we all remember from experience that if pulled off badly, can be downright horrible. But at least it follows a sort of logical progression... and doesn't stick the Mane 6 into HIGH SCHOOL.
And to be fair, I'm not certain it's even real. I looked at that one image with the humanized ponies, and I gotta say, I kinda think it looks falsified.
Just looking at it... I'm noticing no shading on any of the girls, and the copy-pasted, static, generic poses don't look like something that would make for good promotional material. Not to mention the outfit designs look incredibly shoddy and uninspired and mishmashed. In other words, very unprofessional. On the other hand, then I look at what passes for modern Pokemon designs and I realize that professionalism in design doesn't necessarily mean anything, but given what we've seen in FiM proper, I would think they'd realize that simple designs are better desig-

Okay, so outfit design and 'beauty in simplicity' doesn't necessarily mean anything to Hasbro.
Although my first couple points still stand. Also, come to think of it... didn't I see that same hallway in the Littlest Pet shop cartoon? This could just be really fancy photoshop work with some banners and horses pasted in at the top.
Then again it could be legit.

Somehow, I can't bring myself to care.
I mean, I guess I'm a little disappointed. I can think of SEVEN different spin offs that would be way cooler right off the top of my head:
1) Prequel show starring younger princesses and their adventures
2) Adventures of Daring Do
3) CMC adventures
4) Trixie and her traveling stage show across Equestria
5) Adventures of reformed Discord
6) Wild West show in Appleoosa
7) Show following another culture like Griffin, Minotaur, Changeling, Diamond Dog, Dragon, Seapony, etc.
But that's all beside the point. At the end of the day, I can't bring myself to care. I just can't.
You know why?
Because it's not canon.
In other words, it's basically a fanfic. It's just a fanfic written by people who actually write for FiM.
But what really amuses me to no end, is just how up in arms people are over this. Seriously, some of the most level headed and calm people I know in the brony fandom are pissing themselves over this! I just can't comprehend it!
Especially since these are the same people who tell people to "keep calm" in the face of Alicorn Twilight.
So... something that actually affects canon and could easily and most likely will throw the balance of the show out of whack and herald in a new age of pandering to young girls and stupid plotlines and phasing out of major characters and a TON of other things, we're not allowed to get nervous about. If we get nervous about Alicorn Twilight, oh, we're being all panicky and we need to "calm our plots," and if we point out the problems that could so easily go wrong with it, we deserve a good ridicule and goading from the people who prance around wearing "I believe in M. A. Larson" pins (even though, given the state of this past season, we have no reason whatsoever to trust him or any other author on the show anymore save for Corey Powell). Oh yes. Something most likely crap comes along in the main show, it's no cause for concern.
But a non-canon spinoff show? TOTALLY WORTH FREAKING OUT ABOUT.

You know what Hasbro? Go for it. Hell, I'm gonna watch the HELL outta this new show. Yeah, it'll probably suck ass, but on the other hand, maybe it won't. Heck, what if it's a whole "Invader Zim" style scenario? Like, they go to this high school, not for stupid girly girl high-school teenage drama, but because they're actually on a mission and they need to infiltrate this place, either to learn more about our culture, or because there's actually something special about the school itself? Maybe the High School is built on a Hellmouth! That would be FUCKING RAD!

I'mma watch the hell outta this show. They pull it off right, it may actually turn out better than where the main show is going at this point.

I just wonder how this will turn out. It could be good or end up sucking but only time will tell. But yeah, this just adds fuel to the fire that this fanbase was going through before this.

FSA is at a crossroad right now. I'm not sure where it's going to go from here, because sadly, the artist has pretty much completely lost interest in the project. I'm going to see about securing another artist this week, but if nothing comes up, it'll either be me doing the art (and that'll never end well) or... it may just stop altogether.

Their skin looks... Off with the same pony colors, I mean if their humans shouldn't they have natural looking skin... I don't know but it just throws me off that they have that, feels anthro-ish, but ill give it a shot...

The current running theory is that they're keeping the coat colors to avoid tokenism. This way, they don't have to take a stance on the whole ethnicity thing.
You know all those people out there who say "humanized Twilight would be Black" or "human Fluttershy is Arabic" and other such things? And the fights that break out when people do/don't draw them that way? Yeah, this would be Hasbro's way of refusing to open that particular can of worms.
Honestly, I support that particular decision. Assuming this thing is indeed real, then that'll be something they've done right. Assuming, of course, every human in the universe they go to is multicolored (like the Doug universe), or it's properly referenced/made into some sort of running joke.
Also it IS possible for people to have blue/purplish skin.
