Okay, now that thats out of my system, lets try looking at the positive side of having an alicorn Twilight.
Well.... We'll get to see her learn to fly using her wings probably. TwiDash fans will love that to work with in their fics.
And maybe we'll see more of the other princesses in the next season.... more than usual I mean.
TwiLuna and Twilestia will be more plausible for new fics with Twilight being immortal now (Assuming she will be)
Twilunalestia as well....
I guess there will be an increase in sad fics of Twilight having to watch her friends wither away and die.... though that's not my cup of tea, some people like that sad stuff.
Maybe we'll even see some TwiRarity fics with Twilight becoming royalty and all. So that's kinda cool....
I guess her special ability as an alicorn will be magic? Not sure how that will turn out but it could be something special.
Still sad what Twilight becoming an alicorn implies in the long run, but in short term it should be fun to see in new episodes.
Yeah... okay, its not too bad. I guess I'm just being angry for no reason really. I'll just wait until the actually episode airs before I give any permanent thoughts on how I really feel about the change. I can't really say I hate it before I even see the episode....
Besides, if I can't accept the change, I'll never be able to enjoy the rest of the series. I just really hope they find some way to balance all of the power their going to give Twilight as an alicorn. Twilight was always strong in the past episodes, but so were the other elements in their own ways. Now I feel like shes been given such a buff to her character that it will make the others seem less important.
Maybe I'm just worrying for nothing...
The beauty of the fandom is that the show is just a backbone, we can still write Twilight as a normal unicorn. (although the amount will dip for a while)
But yes, I agree there are more negative aspects than positive ones, they should be expanding the canon we can use, not limiting it.

And in all honesty, as far as the fanfiction fandom goes, you'll get a large influx of shitty stories with Twilicorn as the focus. Maybe a few PrimaDonna authors will go 'wah wah wah' and we'll see the cancellation of some good Twilicorn stories.

In the end, I think it really doesn't matter, folks are still going to write whatever the fuck they want in the end.
I doubt Alicorn Twilight is going to last forever.

let me stop there on the whole immortality thing. Celestia and Luna could've been enchanted 1000 years ago, probably by Discord as a curse or Starswirl as a blessing. and Cadence was a foal the same time Twilight was. see, in my mind, any Alicorns after Celestia and Luna are mortal.

Well that is also speculation, all we have to go on is that Celestia is immortal, and there is a good chance that Luna is immortal too, though we can't really say that for sure with her being banished to the moon for all those years. I'm just assuming that immortality is an alicorn thing from what little we know about Celestia herself, but you're right, we can't really know for sure. For all we know, immortality doesn't kick in until alicorns reach a certain age.

I believe she only goes to the coronation because she wants to please her teacher but in the end she may turn down the opportunity to be a princess so she can stay with her friends

I suppose she could be the alicorn of magic, but I always assumed that Celestia was grooming Twilight to be the alicorn of Friendship, like how Cadence was the alicorn of love.
