I have been fearing this ever since I saw the poster with an alicorn Twilight on it....
If they give Twilight wings and make her an alicorn princess, I just don't know what I'm going to do with Grasping Happiness. Even Winter's Warmth will be affected.
I'll just have to write them without being connected with the main story I guess....
But even aside from the amount of stories it will render invalid, if they do give Twilight wings and make her an alicorn it will ruin the balance between the other elements. 2 earth, 2 pegasus, and 2 unicorn. That is the balance. But now they change one into an alicorn? I just don't understand...
Oh. that isn't saying it will be all bad. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of new fics that'll spring up from something like that happening (Still unsure if Twilight turning alicorn is actually what will happen) but it will be such a huge change in the main story that it will basically negate almost every fan story in fimfiction's archives.
I don't know...
Good or bad it will defiantly rock the fandom. I just hope whatever does happen isn't to bad.

I personally would like an Alicorn Twilight. It'd break the status-quo that has developed (unless everything goes back to normal, except Twilight with wings).

hmm.... it does say "turn into alicorn" and it is from the hub directly, but not sure if "turn into princess" is also included. And then you have to also question exactly how reliable the tweet is. Not saying that they lied, but you can never really know in this fandom whether someone is giving out right information or just an answer

Okay, first off, some sarcastic as fuck asshole remark.
Now that I've gotten the asshole in me out of my system, here goes. You should be writing because you want to. Canon Twilicorn? Too lucrative not too. Rock the fandom? Not as much as you might think. You'll have some Prima Donnas cancel their Twilicorn fictions 'just because of [stupid reason here]. I think the biggest thing is that you'll now have a bunch of people who can't write try, and end up watering the quality of current Twilicorn stories. However, shit happens, punches are thrown, it is what happens when you write while a show is ongoing.
And for those who cry foul at Canon Twilicorn, fucking grow up and get over it. It is simply too fucking lucrative for them to NOT introduce it as some point. It may be a bit early, but for the love of god, it was going to happen. Deal with it.
EDIT - I want to clarify that this is NOT directed at you specifically Neon. Just, my god, so many people have been whining at every little potential hint that comes up regarding this possibility. It's getting annoying to be honest.

I'm not really 'that' worried about it. I actually rather like the idea of an alicorn Twilight, and I can already think of some good stories for the idea. I'm just worried that it will change a lot of my head cannons around. Not to mention there are like 3 stories I have been mulling over in my head and getting straight before I started writing them. One of which was my adventure story I've been piecing together. But Twilight being an alicorn would hurt the story I have worked out so far and I would need to go back to square one to sort out and fix. I might even have to scrap the story idea all together...
Maybe she'll realize that being royalty isn't for her and abjecates the throne.

I actually started planning out the next chapter just today, but currently I'm working on a new oneshot and the next chapter of Winter's Warmth. I would like to get to the 4th chapter before I put my attention to Grasping Happiness again, but maybe I'll get a chapter of Grasping Happiness out sometime before then.
