    One Last Update

Hey all. As my last blog said, and as you've probably noticed, I've basically left the site. Comments from me are very rare and I expect blogs (like this one) will be even rarer. But interesting times have gotten even more interesting, so I'm back for one final message.

    Black Lives Matter, my dudes.

    Updates, and Endings

Been a while, eh? A part of me wants to put a joke there, maybe a "kept you waiting, huh?" reference, but I don't think this is the blog for it.

Just a heads up, this isn't going to be a fun blog.

    Galacon Was Fun

Well, strictly speaking, Galacon itself was a massive let-down. Only a single writing-related panel during the entire convention and it was awful. It was also apparently part two, when part one happened last year? Bloody stupid.

But that's ok, because I had the good sense to stay away from that nonsense, and hung out with some cool Horse People instead.

It's Easy To Forget... · 12:46pm Jan 18th, 2013

...that other people are human too.

Nowadays, music is cheap. When rap songs are all about gangstas and shawtys in the club, it's easy to distance oneself from that kind of music. Same applies to the rest of it.

It's not just music, too. In this age of technology, we get what we want, when we want it. When your every wish is served up on a silver platter within moments, it's easy to forget the people who prepared the meal.

But every now and again, something comes along and just gives me a little reminder of what it means to be a human being.

This song reminds me that every person I meet online is still a human, just like you me. That those statistics in the news aren't just numbers, they're real people's lives. That what I say on whatever forum I'm browsing doesn't just disappear. That someone else is living the news. They're reading my comment. They're living that life, and having to deal with what I choose to do.

If I was gay, I would think hip-hop hates me
Have you read the Youtube comments lately?
"Man that's gay" gets dropped on the daily
We've become so numb to what we're sayin'

Food for thought.

Beautiful song, dude. Personally I'm a fan of pure-instrumentals like music from Two Steps From Hell, but this is good too. Glad to see others out there share my views.

Oh aye, I'm a big TSFH fan.

In fact, rap and hip-hop are one of the few genres of music that I don't usually like (the others being screamo and modern pop). I'm so white I actually had to google what a shawty was.

Which is why it came as such a surprise when this song actually made me stop and think.

723224 I'm brown, and I have no idea what a 'shawty' is. :twilightsheepish:

Oh, how I love Macklemore.
