Whoa, I didn't expect the official comic to be darker than the show itself. You can tell they handed the comics off to a brony... or at least a guy.
I imagine about the same as fans of Spiderman feel about One More Day... Some canon is not worth observing.

But seriously, I really like how the changelings are sort of depicted like dangerous, yet lovably evil villains. That's my favourite kind of comedic antagonist.
I love it when fanon gets crushed by canon. I can smell hundreds of fanfics burning.
And from the looks of it, the comics are pretty dark. I'm totally okay with this.

Glitch... is there a way to view this amazing comic without having to, you know, but it? Because this is canon, it gived us SO MUCH info on the Changelings (how they work, how they eat, why Chrysalis said 'love is a ridiculous sentiment' even though that's how they feed, if they can actually talk). I loved this one page. Hell, I think it actually moved Chrysalis to my top 10 faves.
P.S. I NEED to know what the queen's next target is!

By the way, Chrysalis' target is Twilight. She explains why on the next page. The comic isn't out yet, though, and I don't know where the link is for the next issue. Sorry. (oh, and I think Chrysalis meant that Candace trying to get Shining out of her control was a useless sentiment, that she wasn't powerful enough to pull it off or something. the Queen's got a bit of an ego.)

I guess she was just sipping at Shining Armor in the show. Which is an extra layer of creepy. Still leaves the 'but this one is DIFFERENT' fanons... but it is totally fun to explore the ramifications of a shapeshifting emotion-gobbling race.
