Li'l status update and the search for a prereader! · 5:58pm Feb 27th, 2012
Is this thing working? Probably. Is it being read? Now that is the real question.
So for all you fine folks who have been waiting so patiently to read the next chapter of Head Full of Cotton Candy and instead are greeted with this in their notifications, sorry 'bout that. I have been working on the story, have no fear! It's just that these last few weeks have been a little crowded with all that boring real world stuff which hasn't left me with much time to work on anything fun. So it's getting there, but it's still going to be a little while longer since this week isn't looking too flexible either.
That's enough about me, let's talk about you, you beautiful, generous, gorgeous people who stumbled upon this blog post most likely entirely by accident. I love ya! And that's why it always means so much to me when I hear what you have to say. I wrote Heavenly Turmoil and almost everything I have of HFoCC solo, and let me tell you, it's a pain when you're constantly fighting against yourself about how to make the story play out or decide if a chapter is up to snuff or not or if you're just overthinking it and bladda yadda blah.
If any of you fine folks out there think you have a keen eye for critical reading and a good sense of good literature, please send me a message. I'm happy to accept as many prereaders as will volunteer, but based on performance and if I feel that someone's giving me quality feedback that I can use, I most likely will just narrow it down to one or two or three because I love you all so so so much. I write my stories on GoogleDocs first, so if you don't have an account on there, I would recommend getting one since their comments system is the most effective way to give advice that I've used when I preread for others.
tl;dr, I love you, the story's chugging along, and I would love a prereader.
Back to the old grind.
You were right, I did find this entirely on accident, and I admit that I haven't read either of your stories, and I don't that I'll have time to be a prereader for you (maybe this summer I'll volunteer, but not right now).
So why do I comment on this you ask? Well... because I know that I love seeing that little #1 next to the notification box when something of mine is commented on, so I'm giving it to you. Oh, and I am going to make a honest effort to read "Head Full of Cotton Candy" and "Heavenly Turmoil" as soon as I can.
And good luck on finding a prereader! I know that my story would be only half as good as it is (at most) without my brother helping me out, because my brain always likes to pull a "dur, that word means THIS!" when it doesn't.
