Regarding the "Derpy" controversy (Please read... if you don't mind) · 9:25pm Feb 25th, 2012

I was going to wait until I had gained a bit more popularity before I started making "my thoughts on the series" blogs, but this is just to important to me.

Derpy was what initially brought me into the series. Like so many others, I thought Friendship is Magic was some show marketed exclusively for girls that just wanted to sell toys.

Then I saw Derpy, by complete accident. My friend and I were looking up random "derp" images, when I happened to see that blonde pegasus further down the page. I hadn't even watched an episode, and I already loved this character, looking up her origins and appearances in the episodes. After a few more influences, I'd eventually watch the pilot episodes, and the rest is history.

I'm not opposed to her new voice. The actress herself said she thought Derpy was supposed to be a boy, so if that's how "girl Derpy" is supposed to sound, that's great. I am not happy that they've "un-derped" her eyes, and removed her name. Watching the new clip, I feel like it's a lie. It''s like coloring black people in cartoons white, or making a Blue Mr. Popo, we know that's not how it's supposed to be, so we don't like it.

On my day off of work tomorrow, I'm going to spend the morning looking for as many Save Derpy petitions or ways to contact Hasbro as I can. I and others have tried leaving comments for Mrs. Faust, but she's told us in her own words "no comment" (I'm not angry with her about that, I understand). After I feel like I've done all I can, I'm going to put a hold on the sequal to Princess Molestia, and begin making another installment of "You Will Never Share an Intimate Moment With" featuring Derpy. I originally planned to limit it to the mane six, but things change. It's going to have a bit more focus on story and emotion than clop.

Please, whenever you can, just take half an hour out of your activities and look for ways to get this message out to the right people: We want Derpy. Not "bubbles cutie mark pegasus". Derpy. Not "slight crossed eyes if you look real close pegasus". Derpy. Sutdio B gave us this gift, and it's breaking so many hearts now that it's being taken away from us.
