Thunderstorm Story #5 · 4:18pm May 24th

.
A new thunderstorm is happening right now, this time even while I'm outside! I took shelter under a roof, but the wind blew the rain there, so I had to flee into a restaurant to warm up after getting soaked. But I'm glad this happens, it's an adventure. I ordered a warm lavender milk and now I'm writing from here:
.

She sobbed without relent, how she dragged herself past the city guards and through the streets, how the storm had started while she begged from door to door, was told in wails between her fits and shivers. Ponies had scoffed at her from the windows, wealthier foals mocked her for her ragged and ripped clothes. Nopony had opened the door. Her cold did not disappear by the warm fire's shine, teeth clattering up a crescendo in accord with the thunder outside, I feared she would perish in my lap.
Draping all my blankets and spare clothes over her, I tucked her into my bed and took up watch beside the little angel. I asked her name, for if she would be an angel soon indeed, she deserved her rightful name on a grave of hers. Her lips moved, no avail in making a sound audible to my ears. I inched closer, brought my ears to her mouth. The misery spoke her name again and my eyes shrunk as thunder struck the second after.

"Tornado Bolt."

It couldn't be..... The storm outside, the name in its reminiscence, the destruction of a farm by this unforgiving force of nature..... Were the stories all true? The stories I'd always thought of as drunken ramblings by ponies without hope? I shook my head after this thought, "Begone!" I said, "Drunken ramblings it must be!".
The little creature stirred and coughed. The thunder broke the sky in half, but I ignored this part of of the impressions that surrounded me. Folk tales, nothing more, I reminded me to calm my agitated head. Sleep was what Tornado Bolt needed and sleep was what I needed. What would be in the morning was for the morning to answer, not this stormy night.
So I settled into my chair next to the fire and let my guest sleep under the covers, until a morning with better weather, warmth and sunshine to graze us. A morning that would never come.....

.
I can't verify how long this thunderstorm lasts, beyond its initial 26 minutes, because it's too loud in this restaurant, so I might have taken a bit of liberty with the duration this time around. The rain seems to be over now, so I'll cap this part here. It's time to go to a warmer place.
