Oh boy am I excited to share this one.
So, to have heard of this band before, you basically have to be part of one of these three specific groups:
- An Australian fan of indie rock in the 90's.
- A fan (or former fan) of the gosh immensely popular show "Bluey".
- Someone who's literally already checked them out via my music recommendation master list.
Me? I'm a former number two. The lead singer in the band (the band is still active, and may even pump out an album this year), is David McCormack, the guy who plays Bluey's dad. I still enjoy Bluey, but it's been quite some time since I would consider myself a true "fan" of it. I honestly don't even associate the band, Custard, with Bluey at all.

Yeah, I've listened to a few songs by Hey Ocean! (the exclamation mark does not bode well) and while some of it was passable, I did not ever consider myself impressed.

That was better than I thought it'd be. David McCormack is in Oklahoma City right now, with his band, at some sort of fan convention. If I had any damn money right now (or even any regular money), I'd go check it out.
