Deleted Scene from the upcoming chapter to The Last Alicorn WARNING: SPOILERS

"You would have never woken up because you'd be dead!"  Applejack snapped back which caused Sapphire to immediately pull back and stare at the farm mare in shock. "Oh consarn it, I wasn't supposed to tell ya that!" Applejack exclaimed and immediately covered her face with her hat.

"What do you mean by that?" Sapphire asked, her face riddled with concern as she spoke.

"I don't know if i should be sayin' anythin' but the cats out of the bag so I may as well tell ya…" Applejack began. "We're a little more than spirit guides to you and your friend. Guardian angels more like. What ya don't know is that while you were slumped over like a half-dead changeling is that some royal guards happened upon ya and if not for me appearin' when I did, would have most likely done ya six feet under. Trouble is, each of us can only do somethin' like that once and not on demand either so don't go thinkin' the next time your life is on the line one of us is gonna come to your rescue because it doesn't work that way." Applejack explained calmly.

"So everytime each one of you has appeared to help me or Snowbreeze…" Sapphire began but trailed off as the realization hit her.

"We did somethin' that saved your lives, ya. For example, remember when your friend told you about the pony being executed live on stage in Manehattan? Well Pinkie made it so your friend couldn't be seen." The farm pony began.

"So that pony's brother really would have-"  

"Nah, he still wouldn't have said anything even if he could have seen her but a Snow White Pegasus in a crowd of multicolored ponies? She'd stick out like a sore thumb and the Dark Horn wouldn't have needed him to find her in that crowd. Funny thing is, originally we were supposed to only help you and you alone but once that Pegasus came into the picture the powers that be realized you needed her as much as she needed you so we sent two ponies she could most likely relate to to help and protect her. Problem now is, our divine intervention so-to-speak is nearly tapped out. After me, there's only one pony left who can protect and guide you and I don't even know when or how that's gonna happen." Applejack explained and sighed heavily.

The reason for the removal of this scene was that after a night's sleep and looking over the draft i realized I didn't want to take it in this direction. I want the reason for the mane six ponies appearing to remain a mystery for a little longer and I didn't want this to be explanation for their appearances either as i felt it would cheapen their impact on the story.
