A 'novel' idea · 12:50am May 14th
I bet you're all wondering where I went, I got good news.
I'm writing what may one day become my first real fantasy novel.
And it has an alicorn in it, so... am I able to post it here? I'm not sure.
Anywhoo, I'll be gone for awhile as I am working on the greatest story I ever made.
Any questions, ask them down below, but don't expect spoilers.
-GET AN EDITOR! EVERYONE NEEDS ONE!
-REMEMBER EVERY DETAIL SHOULD ADVANCE THE STORY OR ENHANCE THE CHARACTERS! AND THE GREAT WRITERS CAN DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!
-CONTINUITY AND CONSISTENCY MATTERS!
I'm not a mod but if your characters and settings resemble MLP FiM, as far I remember from the rules, I believe you can post with no problem even if doesn't take place in MLP world, but if has just one alicorn and the whole plotting and characters doesn't resemble MLP, I believe it's a no

I do have an editor my sister.
And remember, if you reveal a character can breath fire in chapter 4, people WILL ask questions why they didn't use it melt the ice monster in chapter 2!
ALSO IMPORTANT!
If you end up telling a story about a hero gaining strength as the story goes on, MAKE SURE THAT POWER IS EARNED! And I mean earned in the eyes of the reader! Do not be afraid of humiliating your protagonist, do not be afraid of handing them reversals, do not be afraid of traumatizing them (just not to the point where they whine about it every five pages and it's used as an excuse for them beating up the guard who refused to let them into the city for free when there was a toll ...)
Ainz from the anime Overlord earned his power OFF SCREEN...
Remember, beating up people, threatening them, stringing them along like puppets and discarding them all to get what you want, those are either the actions of a spy (who are supposed to be normally gray even at the best of times), or a villain.
In reality, people would be more scared of the violent traumatized millionaire with secret super weapons designed to destroy his own allies if push comes to shove than the mild mannered farmer turned investigative reporter with the powers of a god.
