Why use EqG fanart for FiM fics? · 4:30pm April 9th
Basically what the title says: Why do some authors use EqG/humanised fanarts for the cover of their fics if they write an FiM fic instead? As someone in lookout for EqG fics, it gets a little bit disappointing when supposedly a new EqG fic drops and it turns out to have the FiM tag.
Nothing that is problematic or in need to be changed—but I do am confused with the lack of explanation. It doesn't happen often, but it happened enough times

Then why not pull the aesthetics through into the fic?
When it comes to finding art I've had the reverse problem. I write predominantly G5 EqG content, and the lack of fanart can be a problem. I had to use pony art for one story as no artist at that point had drawn one of the key characters in EqG form.
Speaking as someone who nearly did this herself - before deciding to commission a cover instead - it can sometimes be the person just couldn't find a closer enough alternative to the cover they wanted.

I guess for some cases, but I don't recall these EqG/humanised covers being something "unique" where no pony version would exist. I guess they just looked so well that they were chosen?
Which would be another proof why EqG is betterBecause, as Cold in Gardez says... [Highlight over the link to glimpse CIG's profile image text.]
