So... have you been wondering what happened? · 4:46am April 7th
So, those who followed me might have noticed that in the summer in 2023 I disappeared seemingly out of nowhere with little reason, purging almost all of my stories and vanishing. it's time to talk about that.
There are many reasons why I had made the decision to cut tail and run, I don't need to go into detail, but I had lost motivation to work on any and all of the stories I had on my account. I was embarrassed by the quality of my own work not being up to my own standards, which I unlisted. Then there were the stories that didn't originally belong to me, but to another user who I met in the summer of 2019. I'm sorry to say to anyone who might have enjoyed those stories, but they are gone, along with the original author of them. Of course, another reason I left was that many people who knew me also knew that I was closely associated with him.
Even though I had tried my best to not get involved, trying hard to not do anything wrong, I still felt like I was at risk of being heckled simply by being around him. Even though most people treated me with respect, I still felt sick to even know what had happened. I had an irrational fear that I let take me over, and it impacted my ability to write.
Then around July, I began the process of moving out of my parents house into my first apartment. My parents found out I had gotten fired from my second job, and basically gave me an ultimatum. I found my third job of the year, one I still work to this day, and finally started a life on my own, moving into my own place in August.
I had a friend help me build an entirely new PC in December, and at that point I worked on changing myself for the better. After a couple months, I began to miss reading fanfiction. I have a lot of respect for the people that run this site, and work on their stories, but I was afraid to return because of what I said above. Though, as you can see, I've overcome that fear. I'm hoping that everyone will welcome me back openly, but I believe my time as an author may have come to a close, well with one exception.
Yeah, Storm Gateway is still listed on my account. It was one of the stories that I still called my own, and I knew there were people who genuinely enjoyed it and were excited for more of it. I'm very sorry that I disappeared on you guys. I can't guarantee that updates for it will be consistent or frequent, but it means to much to me to give up on it now.
Again, all I hope for is that the community accepts me back after I've been gone for nearly a year. I love this fandom, and the community it brings, I want to be here as long as I live.
