Hey, ESRB, whatever you're smoking, can I get some? · 6:34pm January 23rd

Freedom Planet 2 just got certified for console release, with a release date of April 4th,and a rating of Teen.

Let me set the scene.

Freedom Planet 1 opens with a beheading and has an electrocution torture scene halfway through. Somehow, it gets away with an E10 rating.

Freedom Planet 2 gets that T rating because of...

do we honestly adhere to the esrb anyway as gamers?

who takes them seriously?

The EA Sports games get by with E Ratings despite predatory microtransactions. It's clear that the ESRB's standards are illogical to most sane people

Pretty much all sports games do, no "violence" no blood, no mature language or acts, I'd say no gameplay considering how many end up in bargain bins. Microtransactions are newer than ESRB, they don't get factored in.

ESRB needs an overhaul, I'm not sure if it ever changed but online gameplay used to bring an automatic M rating, let's do that to anying with ingame transactions.
I am surprised to learn FP1 got an E10 rating.

I think a lot of the Freedom Planet fanbase is surprised that it managed to get an E10, but FP2 doesn't have any of that.

Technically, most games have that to some degree.

Trust me, I'm not letting 2K(and by extension Take Two Interactive, or anyone else who engages in this kind of business tactic) off the hook for this, they're just as bad.
