Personal Problems... · 7:37am January 23rd
I didn't want to share this when it happened, for a lot of reasons. Some of the reasons are related to divorcing my online persona from the real-world me. A somewhat larger part would be what you;d call tough-guy bullshit
I had the Widowmaker heart attack more-or-less two years ago.
I survived by the luck of an atypical complex of symptoms and a damned good cardiologist doing rounds in the ER when I presented.
"Luck" is a piss-poor plan.
Get checked out! Ideally, before you end up on a gurney...
Looks around nervously
Yeah. A plan. Not luck. I... um, really should get on that.
But damn... That's awful! I'm glad that you sound like you're doing alright nowadays. What's the future prognosis having survived something like that?

Not great. Can't recall the statistics, but I'm probably going to have to undergo bypass surgery within 5 to 7 years, possibly sooner. There's a better than fair chance of a fatal heart attack or stroke in the interim, but I don't have a valid number for the odds,
A large part of improving the odds is how well you stick to your treatment regimen. I've been having a hard time sticking with it, with the number of disruptions to my routine over the last six months. Gonna keep trying, though, because even if your life is a shit sandwich, it still beats the hell out of the alternative.
Looking at the thing like an after-action review, a better course of action would have been to eat rabbit foods in moderation starting at least a decade ago, rather than eating rabbit foods almost exclusively today. Just sayin

I get the rabbit food thing. I have this sort of knee-jerk over-vegging meals I make because one of my roommates is determined to kill all of us. Meat, cheese, eggs, and butter in varying amounts are their staple, and frequently headache-inducing (quite literally). I remember when they learned about egg quiches, and we had to explain - multiple dinners - that serving multiple flavors does not make egg quiche a complete meal.
Hopefully it is working for you.
