Suffice to say, the reaction to my fic(s) was unexpected.
I've posted on AO3 before, but their lack of a story queue (AFAIK) means it's easy for even high quality fics to get lost under the new/recently updated stuff. Someone could upload the next Great American Novel™ there, and it could very well get buried there if the author was particularly unlucky.
I haven't sorted through all the comments yet on FTS (as there are dozens of them), but the overall positive feedback was also unexpected. I thought I'd get a more mixed bag due to the general "choppiness" of my writing, weirdly explaining things, etc. It only has two down votes as of now? Somehow?
I haven't actually written anything major since...12th grade? And that was AP Literature essays. Sticking to anything longer than maybe five hundred words for me nowadays is sadly pretty wild. My attention span, especially post-schooling, isn't the best, and usually I give up writing projects that are longer than one chapter.
My writing "choppiness" comes from my ability to speedwrite — which is the one thing I excel at. Even in the aforementioned AP class' essays (which were harshly graded, mind), I'd almost always do them the day they were due, or even in the class before, instead of the days of time I was given. ADHD sucks like that. Luckily, I could "game the system"...by reading the notes given on previously poor scores and applying what I was told to my still rushed, but better scoring, essays. You know, instead of actually using my time wisely. On times I'm not in "speedwrite" mode, I usually screw myself over by overly obsessing over the writing quality to the point where I never publish the work, even if it's objectively not bad.
For the third chapter, I'm taking more time. It's meant to be Twilight's notes as a sort of "tide over" chapter til Chapter 4, and should be up in a day or two (?). I work full time in the healthcare-ish field (think in-home care), which doesn't much help the "writing bursts", and have a 12+ hr shift Saturday. Fun.
Anyways, please let me know on the comments of the fic if anything comes off as Too awkward / poorly explained / unscientific. My better subject was always English, not math / science. I don't mind constructive critique.
Why not tried putting it in none fanfic-orienced sites? Royalroad? Scribblehub? Wattpad?

Huh? The other stuff I've written? AO3 is a fanfic-oriented site, which is why the other stuff is there. It just suffers from getting lost in new due to a lack of posting queue. I actually didn't know about Royalroad or Scribblehub, though.

I didn't AO3 as suffered from many bad designs, and many are like me.
If you want to reach them, you have to post on the site they are using. I've personally hate royalroad too but I know it's many readers' most preference site.
All three of sites I mentioned above are fanfic friendly. There's always at least a fanfic or two featured in the front page of RR and scribblehub everyday.
