I managed to post directly before a story moderation queue flush (again...) Here is some promotion in hopes to overcome the burial:

Flurry Heart... brings the story out with a bang. :scootangel:
Shining Armor... brings the story in with a whimper. :duck: (And a whine.) :trixieshiftright:

Total Non-Mature Stories Published Per Year · 11:20pm January 6th

At various points during 2023, I calculated total non-mature stories published for each individual year.

Below is the data to revisit a year from now to ascertain how many stories have been de-listed.

Total Non-Mature Stories at some point during 2023, likely between March and September for most below-totals. The total for 2022 is from July 15th so it is possible that all other sums (except for 2023, which is from near year-end) are also from that date.

2023 - 4503
2022 - 4170
2021 - 5156
2020 - 5829
2019 - 6149
2018 - 6623
2017 - 8029
2016 - 9960
2015 - 12555
2014 - 16557
2013 - 18135
2012 - 18783
2011 - 2028

Total Non-Mature Stories tallied on 2024/01/01 (Brackets compare to the above previous-totaled data):
2023 - 4499 (-3 stories year-on-year)
2022 - 4097 (-73 stories year-on-year)
2021 - 5049 (-107 stories year-on-year)
2020 - 5751 (-78 stories year-on-year)
2019 - 6149 (-64 stories year-on-year)
2018 - 6561 (-62 stories year-on-year)
2017 - 7957 (-72 stories year-on-year)
2016 - 9895 (-65 stories year-on-year)
2015 - 12493 (-62 stories year-on-year)
2014 - 16506 (-51 stories year-on-year)
2013 - 18091 (-44 stories year-on-year)
2012 - 18736 (-47 stories year-on-year)
2011 - 2024 (-4 stories year-on-year)

Search Logic
published:>2023-1-1 AND published:<2023-12-31
*Caveat: Ghost Mike pointed out that my tallies' search logic went through the 31st but that would not include items published on the 31st, so anything published on the last day of a month will not be included in the above counts.
- For future tallies, I will use 2024-01-01 as the end range. However, the above tally is presented to be consistent with logic used for tallies that occurred during each year.

Here are tallies with the correct end date (as run on the sixth of 2024):

Total Non-Mature Stories tallied on 2024/01/06 with the end date of the range being 2024/01/01 instead of 2023/12/31. (Parentheses below compare to the above previous-totaled data. The year-on-year comparison is carried over from the above list. Since the last day of each year was missing from past comparisons, the "year-on-year" story loss is not necessarily accurate; however, it is unlikely that many stories posed on the last day of each year will have been deleted in the past few months):

2023 - 4512 (13 stories posted on the last day) (-3 stories year-on-year)
2022 - 4112 (16 stories posted on the last day) (-73 stories year-on-year)
2021 - 5060 (16 stories posted on the last day) (-107 stories year-on-year)
2020 - 5774 (23 stories posted on the last day) (-78 stories year-on-year)
2019 - 6086 (22 stories posted on the last day) (-64 stories year-on-year)
2018 - 6529 (13 stories posted on the last day) (-62 stories year-on-year)
2017 - 7901 (36 stories posted on the last day) (-72 stories year-on-year)
2016 - 9893 (35 stories posted on the last day) (-65 stories year-on-year)
2015 - 12527 (36 stories posted on the last day) (-62 stories year-on-year)
2014 - 16548 (43 stories posted on the last day) (-72 stories year-on-year)
2013 - 18183 (92 stories posted on the last day) (-44 stories year-on-year)
2012 - 18786 (50 stories posted on the last day) (-47 stories year-on-year)
2011 - 2040 (16 stories posted on the last day) (-4 stories year-on-year)

wow this is so cool

For search logic:
published:>2023-1-1 AND published:<2024-1-1

Total Non-Mature Stories tallied on 2024/04/04 (Brackets compare to the above previous-totaled data):
2023 - 4426 (-86 stories year-on-year)
2022 - 4086 (-26 stories year-on-year)
2021 - 5034 (-26 stories year-on-year)
2020 - 5753 (-21 stories year-on-year)
2019 - 6080 (-6 stories year-on-year)
2018 - 6512 (-17 stories year-on-year)
2017 - 7683 (-218 stories year-on-year)
2016 - 9883 (-10 stories year-on-year)
2015 - 12518 (-9 stories year-on-year)
2014 - 16520 (-28 stories year-on-year)
2013 - 18161 (-22 stories year-on-year)
2012 - 18772 (-14 stories year-on-year)
2011 - 2038 (-2 stories year-on-year)

And 1127 non-mature stories published in this year's first three months. If the same pace is maintained, we could see around 4508 stories published in 2024, similar to last years 4512!
