Merry Christmas, everyone.
This post is late, at least in writing. Usually I schedule this for the day of Christmas Eve, but I’ll have written it a few days in advance.
Well, not this year. This Christmas season has been different, and that’s putting it lightly. It almost feels like it barely existed at all. Up until about five days ago, I was having trouble even remembering that it was Christmas. None of the Christmas traditions here on the site have happened. There was no notification of a Christmas holiday, no fun post about favorite Christmas music.
And to be honest, my real life situation wasn’t much different. Two weeks ago today, I spoke at my father’s funeral. Even yesterday I was helping remove items recovered from the debris of my parent’s home.
People talk about making new holiday traditions, but I’m quite certain I don’t wish these to become a regular occurrence in my life.
Strangely enough, I feel somewhat guilty talking about it here, in this post right now. I’m not trying to wallow in things, nor trying to drag down everything. And sands, it is my site.
But it all feels pretty counter to, well, Christmas.
Have what might be considered a classic. Hopefully it'll make this holidays a little brighter amidst the gloom.
