Heya, back again with a new chapter! Hope y'all enjoy this one! Was pretty rough getting it to a point where I'm happy with it! No, I'm not suspiciously using a lot of exclamation marks to seem overly happy for no apparent reason stop asking about it!
There's not much I can discuss here without flat-out just revealing what the chapter's about, so I'll talk about coming up with Meteorite's design. Here's something interesting: I'd never intended for her to be a pegasus.
Picture, if you will, the year 2012. It was a simpler time, oh how we feared the Maya Calendar predicting the world ending in that year, ha ha! Anyway, a younger and... weirdly, more cynical, Alexandra is in the throes of enjoying this new pony show her friend had just infected her with that year. And while she surfs the net, as the cool kids said back then, she stumbles across... Oh, what's this? A pony creator? Oh, how fun! But what kind of pony should she make? Oh, for a laugh, let's try envisioning herself as a pony! Pfft, yeah okay, this'll be something to laugh about later.
Well, obviously, she should be purple. Purple is her favourite colour, so it goes without saying. But, she shouldn't be all purple, no no, you've got to have some style, some flair, darli- *ahem* Apologies, this 'Rarity' character is really starting to grow on her. It's probably nothing.
Red goes well with purple sometimes, given the right shading, so purple coat, red mane, why not. Grey eyes (she always gave herself bluish-greyish eyes in these character creator kinda things, just something she liked) and... there! About done, really, just gotta tick the box for 'Unicorn' and-!
...huh.
That's weird. It doesn't... feel right.
But... why? She always leaned towards magic and magic users. Rincewind, the Black Mage, she liked Rarity enough, as well as this once-off character Trixie... plus magic was just... fun in games! Heck, she's still amused by this one joke involving a meteor spell an-
Okay look, nevermind, it just doesn't work. Let's take away the horn.
...No, earth pony doesn't feel right either. Well, it has to be one of the two! There's no way she'd make herself a pegasus. I mean, let's just put the wings on and we can then see that-
...
why does this feel right?
And so, after much deliberation, Alexandra decided that, maybe herself being a pegasus is OK. She'd have to come up with a name and cutie mark though.

I would very quickly drop from Meteorite's design the gaudy bracelet, the shorn fetlocks, the two-toned tail (though that was an inherent flaw in the creator that I couldn't disable), and then decided to ground her ability to fly.
Why did I decide that last bit?
