Still working on Midnight Rising... · 9:21pm Aug 15th, 2023
My job is interfering, as well as worries over a couple troubled friends. The chapter is currently sitting at 11,326 words with at least 2-3k words more to go, meaning I was only able to put around 1800 words on it over the past week.
It frustrates me knowing that I can normally knock that amount of writing out easily, but my mental energy is a bit low right now as I try to meet a big deadline at work and fret over my friends. With regards to the former, I normally do a significant amount of writing at work, but certain times like now tend to preclude it as I have to get stuff done. And as for the latter... well, you get reminded of priorities and what’s important, and as fun as it can be, it ain’t this.
Nevertheless, I continue to at least slowly peck away at it and still hope to finish a chapter draft before too long. I apologize again for the delay, but I have to earn my pay and maybe help a couple friends through rough spots. I’ll update one more time later this week, and try to have an additional T-rated teaser for you showing some of the conversation of the Humane 6 around the lurid story Sunset’s telling. Among other things, I’ll use it to foreshadow future events.
You can't always write with speed. You really should focus on your work and friends first.

I’ve been trying to, believe me, but I also don’t want to stop work on this getting so close to the end. So I try to do at least a little work on it every day, even if it’s just putting down a couple hundred words.
