Haunted Mansion: Better Than Eddie Murphy's Version? (My Thought) · 3:47am Aug 7th, 2023

I recently watched the new Haunted Mansion with my parents and I would says the film is better mainly because Eddie Murphy's version was full-on comedy movie while this movie balancing between comedy and scary stuffs. (The whole point of Haunted Mansion ride was to make you laugh but at the same time, make you scream out)

Unlike Eddie Murphy's version, this Haunted Mansion dealt with the theme of grief like the main protagonist suffered losing the love of his wife and he have to make peace with her death.

There are a lot of easter eggs throughout the film that hardcore Disney fans will spot.

If you still prefers Eddie Murphy's version for nostalgia sake, this movie is not for you but for Haunted Mansion fans, this movie is for you.

I remember wanting to see this mainly because Tiffany Haddish was in it, and I considered her to be a good fit as the voice for Star Wing.

Personally, I can take or leave the Eddie Murphy film; while I do think he's a good actor, I did think his version of Haunted Mansion was just passable.

From the sound of your review, the upgrade, combined with the star power they got with Ms. Haddish and Danny Devito, makes it sound like it will be a heck of a ride.

Thanks for the recommendation. :pinkiehappy:

I kind of like them both the same
