Hello everybody. I want to start by saying the story is not being canceled, but it will instead be going through a bit of revision. During this time the story will be put on hiatus status, but I am hoping to make quick work on editing and smoothing out the chapters.
The reason behind this choice is rather simple. A reader left a comment on the latest chapter expressing confusion due to the convoluted nature of the story so far. Then again convoluted may be too nice of a word for it… I think the phrase "a hot mess" is a little more on point. That being said, I have no ill will towards this person, in fact I love that they not only took the time to write their thoughts but also cared enough about my story to do so! I of course at the time responded with an answer I was confident with at the time, but after really thinking on their words and in turn going back and rereading what I had already written I can honestly say that they were 100% right.
"Yea this whole plotline is so complicated that I'm having a hard time understanding it, and Doctor Who is a show I watch and enjoy and understand regularly."
This comment, ironically from someone named RandomCommentor, has helped me immensely and I cannot truthfully thank them enough for their input. As such I will be going back and rewriting different chapters, some more than others, to both clear up continuity errors and most importantly take a better hold of the overarching story. I can happily admit that having started this story over a year ago I never imagined I'd get more than a dozen likes over a story I wrote purely for enjoyment and an outlet for my mental health. I cannot express how amazed I am with the small following, let alone support I have received from you all and as such feel it to be criminal to not go back and clean up where I lost track of what I was doing over that year.
I admit that I have tried to subtly revise and change things as I went over time. From coming up with random scenarios or even just gushing over a new headcanon I never fretted too much over what had already been done. A lot of my excuses was simply "fuck it. Celestia lied I guess" but in doing so I somehow made Chrysalis more of a trusting Individual than the sun horse I love.
Now I know I've been rambling a lot at this point so I'll wrap this up. I've taken a closer look at what I have written and constructed a physical story board on paper that I can reference much easier than a poorly titled word doc. As such I am ever hopeful that I can not only clean up my story but also greatly improve on it by making both the story itself and the characters in it more stable than the flimsy IKEA construction that I had been unknowingly building.
