    Thinking about copyright stuff,,

So if writing a fan fic is okay. And it's okay because you don't gain money from it.

And getting bigger money pile is usually good.

Except when someone wanted that specific money pile that you got. And I guess you didn't make their money pile bigger (immediately. It is the immediately part right? I think , is it the delay that's bad?) .

    What about They/Them

    Found my pronouns.

    My pronouns are they/them.
And it still feels good to type out the above line of text.
    :)

So it turns out I could have just looked up some gender terminology online.
    Those resources just exist.

And ignoring them was a thing. (27 years of a thing)

But yeah... They and Them and Their (and more I guess, I'm still learning a bunch of stuff).

    Hullo Reasonableness

I've decided to have more 'reasonableness' in terms of my chapter publishing. (fewer chapters a month, but hopefully one a month (ish))

This has in truth come from pure necessity as I've got five sentences written for what is really the second half of chapter two of my second parody of WWB.

But instead of you getting it and that making this other person have a more big big big money pile.

This other person asks you to stop getting a big money pile yourself. And only communicates that. And doesn't ask to do either of the two more obvious askings.

As in either indirectly asking.

Or just asking. Cos you can be just asking for money. And being polite. Polite communication exists.

You know through communication. Communication being the thing that art is.

The thing that I think all humans try and do, and just do without realising it, nearly all the time.

(I dunno has anyone ever stoped communicating anything but stayed being a human. Like,, thinking is still communication, you just communicate without it being super obvious to anyone but you. then use that communication more super obviously later to others who are not you. Right?)

..........

Okay. I could get existential definition focused for an eternity. But then I'd get nothing else fone.

So back to the purpose.

This was going to be me typing about how everything is already fanfiction. Therefore you can either try to cease and desist everything. Just cancel out all of the existence that has existed.

Or you can chill out.

Chilling out is kinda like this ever present option hidden behind doing what a person doesn't want to do.

And who wants to get different coloured paper and give it away and get different coulured paper to keep and put on a bookcase. Just put the coulured paper on the book case.

I've never heard of a book case for physical cash being a thing people decorate a home with. But try and stop people decorating a home with books or posters or playing cards or certificates. All the paper that costs paper.

And the best paper is usually fridge magnet doodles that a child made . A child who has no real concept of money like an adult might readily have.

Really I just think that money is one of the more "I'm not ready to chill-out right now" things . It's only ever useful to give money away. That's the good part. Right? Giving money. Then the person you gave it to has to give it away.

Endless cycle of getting rid of a thing.

Really getting rid of all money at once would be more efficient.

Just delete all money.

Somehow early Star Trek is completely right.

Well... no not at all.

Well if you ignore all the terrible terribles in early startrek... Then, Kinda?

So just get rid of the terrible terribles in making fan fic. These terrible terribles, being the concept of money in the minds of every human. So that there are no cease and diseas letters and other stuff. The don't be happy stuff that companies that try to make you be happy do.

Wow this took a while and several more whiles

Err

End communication!?!

(Side note, just to close this real quick, so that I actually post this or save it to a notes all or something... Me getting distracted is a great motivator for doing things I didn't know I wanted to do. Just a stream of consciousness. Very 4 the win.

I just wanted to post something to have my thoughts on how I could theoretically parody my own parodies. My Who We Bludgeon series thing. I could parody Who We Bludgeon.
And then that would somehow make it okay to publish. As actual book publish kinda thing. Wait untill I typi each copyrighted noun and go with that typo. Find and replave each copyrighted noun untill it's a thing that looks likr I own it to eveyone.

Well eveyone but me.

Whereas publishing the OG version of WWB. The Who(/Whom) We Become.

Because I didn't write WWB original. And Lauren Faust didn't write EQG1. Faust wrote early G4. But not G3 or the other G stuff.
The other G stuff was based of marketing a toy. Based of a domesticated farm animal. Based off a wild animal that a human gave a job to one day.)

Hopefully I'll press the POST button after I've given a quick glance to the small amount of paragraphs above.))

20 minutes ago it wasn't a small about of paraphrs. Come on SevenEyes. You wrote the above paragraph about POST. Just dooooo it...

So if writing a fan fic is okay. And it's okay because you don't gain money from it.

This is often quoted around this site, but is a bit misleading. Fan fiction is, functionally, illegal (by US copyright laws, fuck if I know anywhere else) unless you can spin it as a parody. Parody is protected by law and you can even monetize it. But otherwise, we're all dirty copyright breakers here. So your WWB parodies? Potentially legal to monetize! My WWB original works though, not even legally protected to exist. The important thing is that no case has ever actually been made against fan fiction, only threats. This means there is no case law ruling. Which is extremely important to the continuation of Fimfiction and related sites. Essentially if there was case law then we couldn't even do this.

What makes it okay is that Hasbro (or other IP holders for other fandoms) do not care and actively want people to write fanfic, because it drives interest in their product. They are willing to turn a blind eye to stuff as long as we don't make money on it. Once you do, like, you start running risks, running more the more money you get. While fanfiction is generally untouched, you have examples of (free) fan content being C&D'd because it was too similar to Hasbro's style and potentially harmful to their brand in their eyes (Fighting is Magic, Don't Mine At Night, etc). As well, to maintain their copyright, it is legally imperative for Hasbro to strike down the occasional fan project. The reason is because if they don't, a court can rule that they aren't protecting their brand and therefore it is public domain. This has happened with H.P. Lovecraft's works (not that I care about Lovecraft, he sucks, but that's another conversation). Even in Lovecraft's lifetime, it was possible to publish books with Cthulhu and other creations of his because he did not protect his copyright when certain authors did. This is why case law is important; the court ruling there specified that Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos were public domain because he did not defend them. As such, all IP holders are at risk if they do not in any way defend their works.

This got long lol. But anyway, with fanfic, they really are turning a blind eye to us. If they acknowledge that our work exists without taking steps against it, then they risk that case law ruling. But taking down Fimfiction, while easy, would do irreparable damage to their brand — we generate interest, but more over, how many fans would flee if a company pulled that shit? So we exist in a sort of "all parties play nice and we get to keep playing, except the unfortunate bastard who gets taken out because Hasbro needs to protect its IP".

This was going to be me typing about how everything is already fanfiction. Therefore you can either try to cease and desist everything. Just cancel out all of the existence that has existed.

Or you can chill out.

Well, legally speaking no, everything is not fanfic. But of course we build ideas on top of the corpses of other ideas; you just have to make sure those corpses are public domain corpses lmao

So just get rid of the terrible terribles in making fan fic. These terrible terribles, being the concept of money in the minds of every human.

Here here!

The Who(/Whom) We Become.

All these years and someone finally points it out. I've been terrified of this moment, and now it's arrived. I must now come face to face with my sins.

"
All these years and someone finally points it out. I've been terrified of this moment, and now it's arrived. I must now come face to face with my sins.
"

Okay real quick.
I often scroll down after a while and read from the bottom of a page. So I'll read the whole thing real soon. Buttt...

Um. Well I don't actually know the whom/ who rule.

So. I tried to learn it. A few times. Mostly because of the WWB.

Not asking for an explanation of the rule. Just...
It seemed entertainingly odd. The idea that I've found it out.

But I only know it might have been whom. Becomes of you.

It's like KINDA full circle.

Like a dog chasing it's tail.
Except there was a dog chasing it's tail. Then another dog saw this. A wondered why a tail could be chased but chased at all, never really understood and looked at it's tail from various angles. But when on to chase its own tail too.

So I see a strange solution here.
And it's already a strange problem so ...

If there has never been a legal case again fan fiction.
Anyone could make the first one.

That could be the step one of talking about what is happening in this novel internet situation.
(The 'First Comment' if you will)

It was USA specific. So in theory...
In the USA a small company that has its own legally protected, Intellectual Property could try and sue itself. Or something similar within the legal system. With the purpose of defining the law in this area.

And specify all relevent stuff openly. But on its own terms.

If fanfiction is proven to be legal in this case. Then good.
If it's not. Then the law/ laws that makes it illegal would be know.

The end results (after many years I imagine) could easily stem then from either: Good, or More Knowledge.

It seems very similar to a fear of the unknown. At present.

A kind of "They mostly come out at night, Mostly".
My words above are a kind of: "So of you went out and found it in the day..." "Use the light that you can already understand and get knowledge from.

I dunno. I'm super super "I'm not a Lawyer but"-ing right now.

Hmmm...
If: "Be gay do crime",
And: laws = can have changes made,
Then maybe: Be gay do can have changes made?

(Just re read this whole thing, and... And now I'm now seeing all the above as a vague suggestion for Fan Fiction to come out if the closet. So I'm going to go make some art. Some art thing to immediate this life thing.)
