I think it's the pitch of the song. High pitches can cause unusual sensations and pain. It's a plausible theory, and I think you should google if they've done studies. i think some have been conducted.

I have some weird after-effects.
My airways feel slightly constricted and I keep getting these little pinching feelings. I am also jittery. To think: all that happened after just FOUR MINUTES of exposure.

After years of playing the original Pokemon games I have built up an immunity to "Lavender Town Syndrome" this song is four minutes long. I used to spend hours at a time in Lavender Town.
My feet are tingly. Kinda weird. Also bad music is bad.
The only thing that happened to me was my chest got heavy and my head felt funny. Other than that, nothing at all.
My neck muscles tensed, and now my right eye lost focus. My head hurts now, I won't be listening to that song again.
