    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

    Hugging Ponies

Well, because there was no TYT this week...

Here's an absolutely adorable tutorial on how to hug your pony from doubleWbrothers.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

I'm filing this under "Personal Greatest Gaming Achievements Ever".

I seriously hope this video looks as impressive as it felt.

Pointers for those unfamiliar with Freedom Planet 2:

I'd like to thank Blizzard for continually freeing up my spare time. · 1:01am Jul 19th, 2023

We're less than two days away from Season 1 of Diablo IV, and the 1.1 patch notes may as well say this:
"Hey, Baldur's Gate III is coming out in a couple weeks. Go play that. Fuck you."

Still resisting taking a chunk of money and buying a beginner's racing sim setup. That will likely become harder to resist as Forza Motorsport gets closer to release in October.

So for now, more Halo, Freedom Planet, and writing.

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

I dread and anticipate BG3. I dread it because I have 3 projects to work on. I anticipate it because it's Baldurs Gate from Larian Studios, it's gonna be awesome.

As for Diablo 4, without any friends to play with or even proper goals, it peters out quickly once you start the grind to the top.

I stopped at level 79 when I discovered I hadn't gotten any better loot drops since 75.

I have a more intermediate-advanced racing sim setup nowadays, but I started out small. If you want suggestions on what to buy lemme know.

I've got my eyes on a Next Level Racing wheel stand, and if I go small, a Logitech G923, or if I go big, a Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel and Pedals.

I also have my eyes on the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter, but I'll only get that if Logitech doesn't come out with a high quality shifter of their own (not the potentiometer ones that come with the G29 and similar).

I'm not positive that the NLR wheel stand will handle a direct-drive wheel without flexing. It might be fine, but I'd send them an e-mail to be sure.
I can't say I have much experience with Logitech, but the pedal system they're selling with the G923 is the same one they've been using for years and it's bad. Luckily they have a good ecosystem and you can get the pro racing pedals and have them be totally compatible with each other, but with the price of both I don't think it's a good deal.

Thrustmaster makes good wheels that are in-between the G923 and G Pro on price, and they have good pedals out of the box.

If you want to go bigger, I'd look at Fanatec's ready2race bundles, but sadly they're sold out of the cheaper options right now. I'm running a fanatec setup right now and it's perfect for me. $500 can get you the same kit I have right now minus the formula wheel.

I wouldn't go much beyond that until you start looking beyond Forza and into simulators like iRacing and Assetto Corsa.

What would you recommend for a stand/cockpit?

My main issue (aside from cost) is available space.

5738519
That's a lot tougher than the actual electronics.
I haven't yet found a folding cockpit that states it supports a direct-drive wheel. If I find one I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
You picked a great wheel stand, I'm impressed with everything NLR makes. Extruded steel is an excellent material for the rigidity required for high-end direct drive wheels (but that's honestly entirely unnecessary and outside of your budget anyways).

The F-GT Lite is probably your best bet for absolute space-saving, but you're gonna have to sacrifice rigidity. The F-GT (non-lite) is a big step up from that, and specifically states that it supports direct-drive. It looks like it could be fairly simple to remove the pedal assembly for stowage to save some space, but while it's assembled it's going to take up some space, no way around that. Still if I were shopping for a cockpit today that's probably what I'd go with.

https://dofreality.com/#h3 This is going to be my next upgrade, lol.

*Looks up what the fuss is about*

*notices they made it more of a grind*

Typical Blizzard.

There's a reason I don't brother a lot of mainstream media anymore.

5738522
Yeah, I'd be looking for something that supports direct drive, but isn't a full on cockpit.

I don't need something that folds up, I just don't have room for a racing seat/cockpit.

5738588
I'm not aware of any wheel stands (as opposed to full cockpits) that support direct-drive, but admittedly it's been a few years since I've shopped for a rig, so there certainly could be something new on the market. Good luck!
