Some background music. You're going to need it: we're going to be here a while.

    Status Update, April 2024 Edition

Part of my slowness in writing M.L.G.'s latest chapter is for the usual reasons: tiredness, minor depression, having other things on the mind, that sort of thing. However, in what can only be described as "whimsy", I've recently decided to complete a list of all of the intentional shout-outs and references in the story as of the most recent chapter.

    Something To Think About

I have a message to share with prospective authors. If you go into writing a story---be it as a living, or just for fun---don't automatically assume that what you're doing is wholly original.

    Tired, Running On Empty

That pretty much summarizes my mental state of the past few days. Constantly tired (half due to not getting enough sleep and half due to my walking regimen), and I can't really think of things I want to write for the story. You know you're having trouble finding things to talk about when your brain fishes for tuna, but ends up with guppies instead.

    So INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED Right Now

I copied the latest chapter of M.L.G. to my flash drive as usual. I took it home with the intent to post it today. I double-click the file.

Just going by what's been seen of them up until this point: of Quarter's nine agents (not counting Ignition), who would you say you like the most?

Either the Ice Skater, the Hunter, or the Kirin.

All of them are really neat so far, especially Statuette and Glintlock. I think those two are tied for my favorite, but Statuette might have an edge for her sense of grace and respect. Anyone who can respect their enemies is a winner in my book. Granted, Glintlock had a similar respect, but his was more of a prideful respect, as opposed to Statuette's genuine humility and willingness to meet Levi on an even playing field and even converse with her peacefully.

On that note though, I think Trifecta might be my least favorite. Where the other characters have names befitting their attitudes, skills, etc., Trifecta is only named such because he has had three jobs or three identities or whatever. I was expecting him to pull out three unique skills in combat, but instead he just ended up being "The flamethrower guy" which had nothing to do with his name unless you consider it as "one element of the Elemental Triangle," which is a fair stretch.

I guess I just feel like Trifecta's name sounds too cool to belong to him, or the character is too mundane and one-note to suit that name. I was expecting him to be a triple-threat, but what I got felt closer to a one-trick pony.

Fair enough. If I'm being honest, I can't say I'm the biggest fan of him myself, in part because of what you said and in part because I didn't do much with his characterization before his memory got wiped.
