It feels like FalseKnees always has an image or two that I can so strongly relate to.
I finally had a quiet weekend. Well, so far it's been pretty quiet, still got another day to go. But it's the first time I feel like I've been able to place my hands to my ears to drown out the noise, only to hear nothing when I take them off. Not from the outside world, and not from me. I can't begin to describe just how much I needed this.
I'm no socialite. Responsibilities tend to wear me down. A consequence of having worked in a career with strict deadlines, I suppose. Throw in a working schedule with not much room to breathe at the end of the day, a natural disaster to put me on edge for months on end, and a constant idea of feeling like being idle is a bad thing, well... You've got a right mess of a human being on your hands.
But it's starting to get better. Slowly, perhaps not surely. But it's trying to get there. I'm trying to get there.
Slinging my heart against a wall and hoping it bounces back.
In other news, I made a new series and still working out its kinks. I seriously debated for a long while not to make it, as I don't do heavily inspired stories almost ever. I'm not the type to use that word haphazardly. When I say "heavily inspired", I mean that it takes after the original almost verbatim. But the story it is based on and the style I tend to write in... well so far the stuff I've written for this new series is very 'me' if that makes sense. I wrote the initial chapter just for fun. Wrote it's ??? chapter just for fun. Debated deleting it. But well, I had a lot of fun writing it, so let's keep this ball rolling a little longer.
I also have another small one chapter story ready. About another of my favorite young ponies, Pipsqueak. It's honestly very small and I only made it for one express purpose. Perhaps someday in the future, I'll expand on it a bit longer. Let's see if anyone even connects the dots with it first though. Stay tuned!
