Ideas for Writing Challenges? · 4:52am May 24th, 2023
Hello again everyone!
If you haven't seen my latest blog post, I am still willing to do requests, so take a look at that one if you're interested! Here, though, I have a different question. If you have an idea for a challenge or other strange writing goal, I would love to hear it! As some of you may know, a couple of my more recent stories were made under strict limitations that I placed upon myself so that I would be forced into unfamiliar writing situations. For example, "Shooting the Breeze With a Retired Princess" was my attempt at writing a story that is almost exclusively dialogue, and my latest story, "The Kidnapping of Princess Twilight Sparkle," was written under a strict one hour time limit. I found it really fun to challenge myself like that, so if any of you have more ideas like these that you would like to see me try out, I would love to hear them!

Make a cohesive story, but every few hundred words, you must switch scenes and characters. Re-using characters is optional, but must have at least one different character between each use.
Telling a story is outta this world 🌍, and crossing over events from references.
A married couple try to communicate with each other in complete silence using no writing or magic.
a pair of siblings try to steal the cake their mother left in the fridge but you can only use a set number of words longer than 5-6 characters per paragraph

I appreciate the suggestion, but unfortunately, the site has a 1,000 word minimum on all stories that get uploaded, so doing so would mean that I have to write a story that's exactly 1,000 words long, and to be frank, that just doesn't sound very fun for anyone.
Write a fic where the dialog is 50% Zecora rhyming.

Id love to see anon try to explain 40k to celestia or some other weird stuff like that. its just funny
What about a crazy event that sends anon and Celestia to his world? And they have to find a way to get back home while avoiding the government and having fun doing it. They could even go on a world trip and visit anon’s parents
