My Test Results · 5:42am Apr 20th, 2023

Well I got a 64% on that test. That’s a D and a 42/65, only 10 points higher than the last test which I didn’t even finish. All I can say in response to that is…………………

Fuck.

I’ll be okay, I promise. I’m too exhausted to vent and it’s late where I’m at, sooooooooo…see you all soon? I’m going to see a school counselor tomorrow so my Mom and I can think of a game plan, but man, I put my all into that test. This is not only depressing, but heartbreaking. I’m going to study extra hard for the next exam. If I can finish strong, there may be time to salvage this. I’m not getting my hopes up again though. I’ve been let down too many times and it’s getting too much. I just want school to be over. My mom and I are currently fighting for me to not have to take summer school as I want to actually have some time off and deliver the stories I promised, plus finish up that darn video, so we’ll see what happens with that. All will be revealed at the meeting whether it be tomorrow or whenever. Again, I’ll keep you guys posted on what happens. I promise I’ll work extremely hard to finish this semester off strong no matter what. It may not happen, but I at least want to keep trying. Hope is all I have left at this point.

Uhhhh…what else? Well, I got into a spat in a comments thread in the last few days after claiming Nickelodeon stole the title Avatar from James Cameron for their Avatar: The Last Airbender show. People seemed to think I was implying they did it out of malice when even I agree it was most likely accidental. I don’t stand by those statements anymore as of this morning onwards, but I still keep the act up for people still clowning on me. Perhaps my wording could’ve been better, but I’m just angry that ATLA is stealing the limelight from James Cameron’s masterpiece. I’ll link the convo down below, but unlike last time when I defended G5, know that I am not in the right here. I was high on my emotions and lashed out. I just wanted to express my anger that there are no MLP crossover stories with the Avatar franchise and so forth. You all might’ve guessed from certain portions of Skystar’s story Can I Go, Mom? that I love Avatar: The Way of Water and it’s true. I am an Avatar fan. A hardcore one at that. I discovered the franchise back in September of last year when Disney re-released the 2009 epic to catch viewers up for the sequel. I loved it so much that I dedicated several videos on one of my now dead YouTube channels called the Free Republic of Admiral Producer (it’s dead, don’t subscribe. You won’t get anything out of it, trust me) to promoting and hyping up Avatar: The Way of Water to death. I saw the sequel In December on opening night and I LOVED it!!!! It’s way better than the original and is definitely worth being the third highest grossing movie of all time (even if Titanic is a bit better than both of them in my opinion). But as a huge fan, it just saddens me that the Avatar fandom seems to be mostly quiet and in the shadows unlike the passionate and vocal fanbase of most iconic franchises. There’s no crossover stories here and that makes me really sad. The Avatar franchise should absolutely be allowed stand alongside franchises like Star Wars, the MCU, DC, Indians Jones, so on and so forth. Even Disney channel shows like The Owl House and Amphibia and even the MLP fandom is more active than the Avatar fandom and it makes me feel alone sometimes. There are passionate people out there with great channels like Avatar Guy, Local, Avatar Theory, to name a few. Yet it’s not enough. That’s why I worded my initial post so strongly.

The franchise is going to end in 8 years with Avatar 5 and I still feel like not enough people have discovered this franchise’s brilliance. The haters are so much more vocal than the fans and that’s not right. Why should those other iconic franchises (three of which are now struggling. I think you can tell which if you’ve been keeping up) be given all the love when Avatar eclipses them in so many aspects? It’s not just an overrated tech demo. It’s a beautiful story about nature, family, and caring for the world around you. Why should Avatar: The Last Airbender get to parade around the name of James Cameron’s masterpiece and reap all the praise from it? It isn’t fair!! In spite of ATLA’s quality, Nickelodeon doesn’t deserve to be the one solely associated with pioneering the Avatar name. 20th Century Fox and James Cameron do. This was his idea. This was his creation, his dream!!! I have not watched ATLA and I don’t plan to simply because there is only one Avatar franchise in my mind.

I’m sorry. If you’re a fan of ATLA, I have no doubt alienated a lot of you and if you’re angry at me, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t’ve implied that Nickelodeon stole the Avatar name, yet with Avatar being buried underneath the shadow of the former, it almost kinda feels like it. Expect me to write an Avatar-MLP crossover story at some point. I have a great idea for one and it’s amazing. But the priority right now is finishing the Misty Saga and kickstarting the Lunar Literary Universe. Anything that does not fall under LLU continuity will be labeled as Elseworlds, which actually includes Star Wars: Trials of the Force now that I think about it. But as for the test…man I had high hopes for that one. I was so sure I’d get at least a C. But a D? God dammit. Life just isn’t fair to me sometimes.

This’ll probably be the last of my ranting posts for a good while. Not only do I have to get busy if I want to stick the landing, I also want to be more positive from here on out. That’s what I stand for and I feel like I haven’t done enough of that. I’ve always been too focused on letting real life issues get in the way of my happiness. So if you hear anything else about my school life, I’ll try to have a more positive outlook, in spite of how hard it can be sometimes.

Sooooooo…another call to action thread? Well, probably. I’m an Avatar fan, so feel free to judge me accordingly. If this post inspires more of you to give the franchise a chance, then that is awesome as I sincerely believe James Cameron’s passion project deserves more love. I’m going to see it again tomorrow for the Earth Day re-release, so this’ll mark my 7th or 8th time seeing it. I really love this movie so much and I hope some of you can catch the showing too. If not, well it is currently available on digital platforms like YouTube and Google Play. Please support this franchise if you can, thanks. Oh and ponydog127? I’ll try and have your chapter done by this Sunday, but don’t count on it. I’m getting busy after all, but I’ll try to squeeze one more chapter out for you. Afterwards though, I suggest you find someone else to help you in the meantime. It’ll take a huge pressure off my back, thanks.

With that being said, I will see you all hopefully soon. Bye!

I'm sorry abut your test... I know you worked really hard on it.

The low grade feels very familiar to me, let me tell you. Oof. Sorry to hear that. 😯

I personally see The Last Airbender as my favorite tv show of all time.

Sooooooooooo, let’s just not get involved in those discussions about who deserves to be better recognized.

Especially since I haven’t watched the Cameron Avatars and can’t make a non biased opinion.

Also, sorry about your test. That must really sting

Works for me. I’d rather not argue about it at all either (especially since I’ve long since retracted my ‘Avatar was Stolen’ statement). If you enjoy Avatar: The Last Airbender, all power to you. I just can’t bring myself to watch it due to how its popularity caused James Cameron’s movies to be snubbed in the online pop culture sphere. But that’s not a reflection of TLA’s quality in the slightest, just my personal preference and loyalty to one of my favorite directors.

But I do encourage you to see James Cameron’s Avatar work as the two movies are honestly really, really good! I highly recommend them. Also, thanks. The fact that I didn’t do well certainly does sting, but I’m still determined to keep fighting, so I can end the semester on a high note.

I did. And it does hurt. But I’m determined to do well for the rest of the semester. I’ll be okay.
