Lots of Interesting Things Lately... · 9:03pm Apr 13th, 2023
Interesting to me, at least...
First off, my gaming hobby has been slowly expanding, and I've been really enjoying what's been coming. Starting off with Odin Sphere, I'm about halfway through completing the game, entering The Black Knight's chapter and having a blast. I know the story quite well after watching one of my favorite Youtuber's play it, but I can't help but re-visit it on my own terms. It's that good.
Moving onto Tales of Xillia, it was a game my friend Joey got me a while back, and I've got to say that I've quite the positive first impression. Not gonna talk about it too much, as I'd honestly bore anyone that still reads my crap with the details, but if the game is indicative of the "Tales of" series (or even said to be the best in terms of gameplay), then it may seem like a must play. Though, it's only on the PS3, so you'll have to either have or hunt down the console to try it.
Next, a game my friend got me (once again, it's Joey) finally showed up in the mail yesterday: Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess. I've been interested in the series ever since I once saw a trailer for Trapt for the PS2 way back in the day, but I never really got around to the series properly, until now. I'm always interested in games that do something "different" to the standard fare that tends to be offered, and a game where you play as a trap-master and deal with invaders ala "Home Alone" style seems like it'd be a hell of a time. The fact that the games themselves are seeped into the gothic horror genre also entices my love for the aesthetic, to say the least. I'm extremely excited to try it out and see if it's very unorthodox gameplay style jives with me.
Aside from that, I've actually been writing down quite a few new story ideas and notes due to some flashes of inspiration. Some are more side chapters, others are continuations of currently WIP stories I've yet to finish. And some are whole new stories that I've put off to the side on the off chance I get around to writing them (including not one, but TWO new Apparition Amphitheater stories. Ya know, the stories I write nearly every Halloween? Yeah, surprised me two. I normally just barely come up with one idea a year, lol).
As for real life stuff, things are just steadily plotting along. Gotta file some taxes. Still gushing over my wife (who's now well on here way to getting here Citizenship now). Slow progress on all fronts, but that's all fine and dandy.
Hope to get some actual writing done in the near future, especially with Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children. I'll try not to procrastinate too much, but no guarantees on that.
