    Writing Update No.6

    Hello,

Apologies for the long… silence. It’s been a very, very tough (more than a few) months from a creativity perspective in my life. I landed my dream job and the huge lifestyle (or lack thereof) changes that came along with it.

    Writing Update! No.4

    Hey there!

Ch.4 is coming along, albeit slowly. I intended it to be a lot shorter than it has become, but a certain character has been an adjustment to write to say the least. Very wordy and grandiose. No worries though, I’m over the halfway point and it should be relatively smooth sailing downhill from here. Expect Ch.4 late this month, or, worst case, in the first week of May.

    Writing Update! No.3

    Hey there!

Cutting to the chase once again, Chapter 3 has been handed off for editing. Expect it to be up in a week or so! It’s a little longer than I would have liked at just over 11,000 words in its raw draft; It could get shorter or longer in the editing process, we’ll have to see.

    Writing Update! No.2

    Hey there folks!

To cut to the chase, yes. Chapter 3 is still being written, and chapter 4 is going to practically fly together. Already have 2k+ words pre-written for that one.

Hey there!

Cutting to the chase once again, Chapter 3 has been handed off for editing. Expect it to be up in a week or so! It’s a little longer than I would have liked at just over 11,000 words in its raw draft; It could get shorter or longer in the editing process, we’ll have to see.

Thanks for being patient and my sincerest apologies for taking so long. College has been a pain for the past few weeks, but it’s finally on the downhill now. I’ll be starting on Chapter 4 right away to make up for my lack of progress. :twilightsheepish:

As always,

That's unfortunate to hear since I don't read anything over 1100 words. Is there a way you can release 11 chapters of 1000 words for lazy people like me?:trollestia:

No, no. I don’t think so! Would ruin the pacing and whatnot. It is broken into three or four sections though, if that helps. (:

5719717 So will this be a story spanning at least a dozen chapters?

As many as it takes to tell the tale I have cooked up in my mind while still being poignant enough to be called a ‘story’, rather than a ‘intense vomiting of words’. Later on each chapter will cover a day’s events and, given its established that its a ‘month-long’ (30-day) mission, you can do the math.

It’s worth mentioning that the ship has supplies for 4 ponies for 30 days, and given they are a crew of 3, technically 40 would be possible. If the mission was extended, that is. Hopefully my pacing is just right and it doesn’t come to that.

Get ready for the long haul, I’d say.

You're welcome. Its not often I come across stories that a premise that catches my attention or is written well enough to keep. Often or not its one or the other, so the fact I can have both is nice for a chance. Not saying I'm an expert, but its one of the reasons I took writing horse words in the first place because the stories I wanted to read weren't being written, so reading a good story is a treat. Take your time writing, but focus on your life first.

I have no words, apart from I now wish I had more time to polish this chapter. You are too kind, truly. Thank you for the kick in the ass on the motivation front, will do my best to make sure this story is a banger, enough anyways. I’m in the same boat, I’m writing what I’d like to read.

:scootangel:

Take your time! We look forward to your pieces of word art.

At least you didn't get a comment on you story from a reader that said while he loved the story, would be cautious reading any future material from me because he noticed the quality was going down.

That shocked me and after sending him a Dm, and rewriting part of a chapter he seemed more interested, but overall he was right. I'd been rushing my story trying to reach the end, and so after that exchange I published my nearly 12k word chapter. That chapter alone seemed to shift his and others opinions for the time being.

Now, I'm no longer rushing to the end, but taking my time and rediscovering how much I missed 'writing for myself' instead of my readers. Granted, they help motivate me. :pinkiecrazy:
