New Story in the Works! · 8:09pm Mar 18th, 2023
That's right! I'm in the middle of writing another story! This one though is going to be a BIG project so I'm not exactly sure when I'll publish the first chapter.
It's about two sisters, Spring Meadow, and Midnight Arrow, who are the daughters of Flurry Heart. They are complete opposites in every way with Spring meadow being an extrovert, beloved by the crystal ponies, and already in a steady relationship. Midnight arrow is an introvert, seen as the inferior sister, and is a loner through and through. Spring Meadow is really popular and has a lot of friends but is actually really self-conscious and has really weak magic, while Midnight Arrow has extremely potent magic and has a lot of self-confidence, but feels ostracized from society and really awkward with other ponies.
(For those people who think this is just a reboot of Celestia and Luna, I did take some inspiration from the Two Sisters, but this is also really different. Instead of them ruling together and one sister being jealous of another, these sisters are still not in charge of any kingdom and have nothing to do with each other.)
The plot basically has to do with two sisters who seem to have everything, but in reality, don't have what they really want. One sister wants power while the other would gladly give up her wings and horn just to be normal. There will be a journey of self-discovery that will span into Equestria and beyond (hint hint.) Through this, the sister will find where they are meant to be and come into their own.
I will release some more info on Spring Meadow and Midnight Arrow soon, including some drawings, cutie marks, and basic personalities.
Hope everyone is looking forward to this story as much as I am! If I need an editor, I'll put out a call in the future. I might also take a couple of beta readers just to see how well-received this story would be.
Hope you are well, NS
That sounds like an interesting concept! Although yes, it might indeed require quite some dedication to finish, cause all the character development something like this might need can probably potentially stretch over tens of thousands of words, haha. That's not to say it's a bad thing though, not at all! On the contrary, it might make the story better in the long run, I think.
If you ever need editors or beta readers, like you say, I may be up for it. Either way, you know where to find me.

I'm thinking that this would be a multi chapter story, but I'm unsure of how big the chapters would be exactly. So far what I have written averages out about 3-5k word per chapter, but I'm still trying to figure out the foundation of the story and then figure out where I want to go with it. I already have a couple character arcs in mind, like one sister it will be a corruption arc and the other will be a kind of redemption arc, but even those aren't set in stones. I'm debating on whether or not I should add in a couple of antagonist or just focus it on the sisters fueling most of the story. Right now, this story is still very much in the developmental stage, but I hope to get a couple editors within the next month. I might take up your offer to be a beta reader once I actually have a few chapters that are ready
Hmm... This does put into perspective why neither Celestia nor Luna had any children. Feudal titles normally transfer from the previous holder to their children on death. Alicorns cannot die under normal circumstances and therefore their titles never transfer to their children. One can only imagine the amount of conflict this situation would create if alicorns would've been any more numerous. I think I'll write something about it one day.
