Why You Should Read "Can You See What I See?" Again ( Please c: ) · 2:53pm Jan 26th, 2023
I've gone over it a number of times – I wrote Can You See What I See? over the course of less than two weeks, I wrote/proofread/edited each chapter basically the same day as I published it, there were a lot of errors left in as a result, etc.
Well, when I posted the finale, someone graciously offered to go through it and proofread it for me. Admittedly, I thought they were just trying to be nice at first, and that I'd probably just have to eventually do it on my own time. But then we started working together on my ongoing story, and not long after that, they started work on editing CYSWIS as well!
As of this morning, the work is done! The story has been edited and – in my opinion – reads much smoother than it used to. Most of the differences are subtle, but they make a difference regardless.
The only part I can really take credit for is the changes to chapter eight. I did a lot of work on that chapter – adding details, filling in gaps, redoing some of the dialog – and I think it makes for a much better climactic moment than it used to be.
The majority of the work, however, was done by someone whose name is in every author's note. Someone who I've thanked incessantly, and someone who I believe deserves all that gratitude. Of course, I'm talking about EileenSaysHi, who has worked hard and fast to get this story in an even better state.
I won't drag this on much longer. I humbly ask that you reread CYSWIS because I don't want their work to go unnoticed, and because I think it reads better now than it did before. If you do, I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading
I can't make promises but if I need a story to read or feel like rereading within the future I might consider CYSWIS. It's still a good story but I don't think I want to reread it yet atm with the other stories I'm reading. But if I find the time I likely might.
Ah, EileenSaysHi is a pretty good author! I've competed in a couple of competitions with them related to Sunset stories. I'm glad you were able to rewrite a story that is close to your heart with the help of an understanding and talented author! I will probably go back and rewrite my own story at some point in the future since my current writing style has definitely changed from before. In general, congrats! I don't have a lot of time to read these days, but I will definitely give it a shot when I do!
It was an honor to revisit this wonderful story that overrode my editing brain and brought me to tears even while I was working on it.
Sweeeet. Will give it another run because it was good.
Oh hell yeah, time for a revisit!!!!!!
