Six minutes before Midnight on 2-Jan-23 is when I started to write this post.
I've been a very busy girl since I last wrote anything. My job and other activities have kept me otherwise occupied, much to the frustration of anybody who has wanted to see any of my stories advance.
So, let's start with the first major one: Sunset's Last Glow.
I quite literally started writing that almost a decade ago. I'm not sure what direction I should go with it. What I do know is this—there's no real outline, I don't have a clue how it's supposed to end, and upon re-reading it, there are a lot of whiplash transitions with not a lot of pause for readers to know where I'm hoping to lead them. A good idea at the time, but it'll probably stay in the "on hiatus" pile before I just get over myself and cancel the damn thing. Maybe.
Second is one that I didn't start quite as long ago, Until Death Do Us Part.
Still unpublished after a case of writer's block waylaid me and I just lost interest in the story for a while, as I have with most of my writing that wasn't for social media posts for the conventions that I've volunteered for. After a conversation with a friend, though, I think this turkey has some legs and deserves to have a second go. This one I do have an outline for, story beats, and things I want to see. It's just the "writing it" part now.
The third is a story I started, stalled out on, deleted, and now want to revisit it. A Milk Mare's (Macro) Tour is going to be next on the agenda after the writing, editing, and proofreading of the story below is done.
The most recent item on the agenda is the one that was conceived in a conversation with the same friend. It's also in an unpublished state right now, as there's only a chapter that's still being worked on, although my hope/goal is to have it ready before WCPC in June; by the end of the year is fine. It's a story with a bonus chapter that can augment the experience of the reader but isn't wholly required for a full understanding of the main story. It's my first foray into some of the Generation 5 characters!
Those two stories, States of Mist and Condensation are going to revolve around an adventure featuring Misty!
Averaging 2K words a day has helped, although as soon as my routine kicks back in, that might ebb a bit... or as soon as I'm done with Condensation and no longer have the need to burn through the bonus chapter while neglecting the main story.
All right, y'all, I should be off to bed: work in a few hours and it's supposed to snow, WHEEE!
It's storming down here. Be safe!
