Happy New Year, everypony! I hope you all had a wonderful day (and night too). So I’ve been a bit busy spamming promoting “Can I Go, Mom?” to death and writing “The Fall of Opaline” at the same time and upon checking my list of stories, I happened to stumble upon something absolutely incredible and this is honestly the best New Years gift I ever could’ve gotten from you all.
“Worthless” has surpassed 2,000 views!!
Holy cow! I had no idea the story would perform this well and I’m so happy that it has resonated with so many of you!! I was considering quickly writing up an extended edit to celebrate as I did with “Forgiven,” but honestly…I can’t see what I can improve about it. Your response to it since release has been absolutely amazing to see. While I do wish the following sequels could’ve received the same amount of love, I’m happy this story was the one to exceed expectations out of all of them. Misty is a character with so much potential as I said and this story really was a labor of love from me. Being a massive defender of G5 (you’ll see how much of a big fan I truly am when that darned defense video comes out), I not only wanted to write my theory about where I think Make Your Mark is headed, but I also wanted to give Misty some love. So many other Bronies at that time seemed to write her off, call her over-the-top “I’m suspicious” antics annoying, or just didn’t really find her all that interesting and I completely disagree. I think G5 as a whole has a lot of amazing things going for it that fans just aren’t giving credit for because of the G4 nostalgia curse, and Misty is one of the highlights. Think about it. We’ve never really seen a character like her in MLP before and the abusive relationship between her and Opaline is just fascinating to see progress. It’s obvious that we’re headed towards something big and “Worthless” was written with that mindset in mind. It’s a redemption story at the end of the day and I’m really working extremely hard to make sure “Redeemed” pays off that setup that so many of you latched onto.
At the end of the day, “Worthless,” “Forgiven,” and “Redeemed” are the core three stories of the Misty Saga and it’s important that this trilogy goes out with a bang. I really appreciate how much you all love “Worthless” and the lesson behind it, and I really hope “Redeemed” sticks the landing for all of you. Once again, thank you all for the support you have given “Worthless” and as I begin my 4th year on FIMFiction and a fresh year of juicy stories, here’s to a happy New Year to all of you! As a hardcore Brony, I could not be more proud of all I’ve accomplished on this site so far and the massive success of “Worthless” has inspired me to give one of my older multi-chapter stories a second chance at life. I think you can all guess which one it is, but in case you can’t, I’ll update you all tomorrow with a special announcement.

I think it has to do with the time the story was written. The fandom was going nuts over Misty, so I guess it was just perfect timing that the story got as many views as it did. Whatever the case, I’m insanely grateful.
