Hi readers (if any remain)!
So, as can probably be made clear, In Somepony's Shadow is clearly dead media at this point. Real life just kind of got in the way, and hobbies are the victim of ADHD sometimes. That said, I never quite forgot about the story, and I'm always kind of tempted to do something with it from time to time. For example, I have a commission in place to get it some nice new artwork cause I felt like it, but that also got me thinking...
Who would be interested in a rewrite/starting over?
I think at this point, if I was to do anything with the story, it would have to be starting it fresh. Just had more years experience in doing stories (admittedly, through ttrpg) and just feel like I could do a lot better with it. Plus, admittedly, when I look back at some of the stuff I'm not the happiest with it, and now with the series complete I feel like I can also include elements from future seasons into the storyline at various points.
I'd still keep the basic setup: Trixie and Luna, dealing with the aftermath of Twilight's recent ascension into alicornhood, establish an apprenticeship and bond over feelings of not living up to these other super amazing ponies that have impacted their lives. Beyond that, though, not a hundred percent sure. Maybe keep the Discord poking at Trixie's ego because how dare one of his two of his previous playthings get their own lives because he's also someone terminally unsure how to form connections with people due to ego and selfish tendencies, but not wrap it up so nice and clean and keep it a longer issue that bubbles under the surface. Maybe if I can actually keep it going long enough connect with Starlight at some point because I absolutely adore Trixie and Starlight's interactions, though maybe better to do that in a separate series.
Honestly, not sure, and more importantly unsure what to do with the old content. My inner archivist at times doesn't like to just delete/dump stuff, even if I'm banishing it to the realm of "non-canon" (to whatever that means in fanfiction).
So yeah, I don't know, but figured I'd throw it out there.
I would say tag it "cancelled", and maybe throw a note in the blurb to the effect that readers should follow you to see if it gets rebooted.

That could work for now. The other thing I'm interested in is the story is on Equestria Daily as well. Guess could always just email them about it, though at this point not sure how important that really is. More concerned on if should just resubmit as a brand new story or just keep the story and, like, adjust the chapters and make a note what were the old chapters.

I would start again, new story. (Of course, it is 7:15pm on new year's eve, and I am already quite drunk.)
As to Equestria daily, I don't think that they're as relevant as they once were. But, as I am not the centre of the universe, your mileage may vary.
I'd love to see the story continued in any way, even if that means rebooting it.

Glad to hear about the interest! If it's continuing it's going to be a reboot: I'll make a note about it whenever that happens.
I really loved this story so I would certainly be interested in any sort of reboot, rewrite or even a completely different story with a similar premise.
