So much for tentative promises, but a bit of good news to the mix...

Well... as it probably has become abundantly clear since I made my last post, the glimmer of a possibility I talked about there didn't materialize. And then I went without talking for quite some time after I posted it.

I wish I had a better excuse to give, but it ultimately boils down to my life still having issues, and me still not being the best at dealing with them.

A bit of a status update...

So... it's been a while since I made one of these.

And unfortunately, it's a bit more of the same thing.

Funny Fridays - Ponified Joke #3

So... it seems I'm not the best at delivering these on a regular basis... which I suppose is to be sadly expected, considering I'm far from the best at keeping a consistent update schedule with my actual stories.

That said, as with my actual stories, I haven't forgotten these. As such, here is yet another one, which I hope you enjoy.

Another look back at a past year, and some tentative hopes for the upcoming one...

So... once more, a year ends, and another begins.

Both for the world at large, and for me on this site specifically. And again, I look back at the year that just ended and think back on how it was for me on this site.

I still have no complaints on what this site brought me. Again, I got to read many great stories, and to interact with many great users.

The previews and (some of the) titles I promised... · 2:14am Dec 26th, 2022

Well... about a month ago, I mentioned a Christmas miracle, but it seems that on actual Christmas, I can't even manage the comparatively simple feat of being punctual. I promised to deliver some previews and titles for upcoming stories of mine, but as it happens, at least going by my country's timezone, I'm no longer doing it by Christmas Day proper.

I know it is still Christmas in some parts of the world at this point, but all the same, I apologize for my delay to anyone who was looking forward to any of these previews and titles.

To all who decide to read them, I hope you enjoy them.

Should you celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a Merry Christmas with your loved ones. And should you celebrate something else, or should you celebrate nothing at all, I hope you had a happy day all the same, in the company of whatever loved ones you spent it with, and having a good celebration if you celebrated anything else. :)

Now, without further ado, here are the previews I promised:

PREVIEW 1: Looks At A Student's Path

An adaptation of The Fall of Sunset Shimmer

Sunspot looked down. It was true that, going by the letter of the law and basic familial ties, Sunset was his charge now. Unfortunately, neither the letter of the law nor familial ties were a guarantee of a good relationship, and Sunspot knew that he and Sunset did not have a good familial relationship. More to the point, despite said familial ties, they did not have a relationship, period, and he knew there were more reasons for him not to take in Sunset than the opposite.

But he couldn’t simply abandon her. Even if he wouldn’t face any legal troubles, simply leaving her to her fortune was morally wrong. Yet, considering what he had garnered from her sentiments and what he figured she thought of him, taking her could also be bad in a different manner.

What do I do? He thought.

PREVIEW 2: Revamped Tale: A Trip To The Highest Kingdom

An adaptation of Issue 26 of the Friends Forever comics

“Prince Rutherford!” the new arrival shouted, his voice thick with panic. “Prince Rutherford! Look!”

A chestnut-brown yak with a green cloak on his back and gold adornments on his horns, hooves and the posterior half of his back galloped over to the new arrival. Despite the hair covering his eyes, it would not be a problem for most onlookers to see that the Yak prince was looking at no one but the new arrival, and the scowl his mouth had twisted into would make it equally easy to assume how he felt at the interruption.

“Not shout, Yojan! You know no noise in Music Hut!”

“Yojan apologize, Prince Rutherford, but it serious! Look!”

Saying so, the blond yak turned around, his head turned to the sky. Prince Rutherford galloped past him and looked up.

Once he did, his eyes widened so much at what he saw that the hair covering them seemed to lift of its own accord, fully exposing the fearful, shocked look in them.

PREVIEW 3: Revamped Tale: A Parade Of Unkindness

An adaptation of Rarity Takes Manehattan

She barely took three steps away before the pink-coated purple-maned mare in the blue bandanna trotted up to her.

“Here, Rarity! Let me help you!”

Rarity turned to face her, her left eyebrow curled.

“I beg your pardon?”

The mare chuckled.

“It’s alright. There’s no pardon to give. I just thought you might like a friendly face to show you around and give you a hoof, m’kay?”

Rarity fought the urge to lean backwards and frown, both at the unexpected friendliness and what the mare was saying particularly the ‘friendly face’ bit.

True, now that she gave her a better look, there seemed to be something familiar about her, but Rarity couldn’t quite put her hoof as to what it was.

“I’m sorry, darling, but have we met?”

A look of utter disbelief, somehow half-theatrical and half-serious, came to the other mare.

“Don’t you remember me? Suri Polomare, from the Ponyville Knitters League?”

Light was shed into Rarity’s memories, and a smile lit up her face.

“Oh, yes! I remember you! You’re Millie and Daisy’s younger sister! And…” Rarity couldn’t help but trail off, unease creeping over her once more as she remembered who else this mare was related to.

These are all the previews I will share so far. I hope you liked them. :)

Now, as promised, here are the six titles I mentioned. Three of them are of adaptations of official content, and three of them are for original stories. All of them are subject to possible change, but for the time being, I think they will stay as they are.

Titles of upcoming adaptations, joined by a brief description of the story they're adapting:

Revamped Tale: A Rare Nightmare

An adaptation of Volumes 5-8 of the IDW comics.

Revamped Tale: The Quest for the Tree

An adaptation of Princess Twilight Sparkle, combined with elements of Volumes 25 and 26 of the IDW comics.

Revamped Tale: A Load of Bulls

An adaptation of Volumes 27-28 of the IDW comics.

Titles of upcoming original stories:

Added Tale: Fuel to the Fire

A story about a conflict that took place during the migration seen in Dragon Quest.

Added Tale: The Quest for the Princess

A story about a discovery made in the Crystal Empire, and the decision that is made because of it.

Added Tale: The Unfortunate Fate of Faustus Blueblood

A story about the last student Star Swirl the Bearded taught before his disappearance.

This is all for now.

Like with the previews, I hope you enjoyed these titles. One or the other, I will try my best to make the full stories interesting once I start posting them, and will do my best to get started on them as soon as possible.

Thank you to all who took the time to read this. :) Once more, I hope you had a Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, a happy different celebration if you celebrate something else, or simply a happy day if you do not observe any celebration.

As always, I hope all is well with all of you.

Best regards, and take care.

Seems like you have a full plate. And that you and I might be covering similar topics down the road.

Well... I plead guilty to having big ideas (big referring to their vastness, as when it comes to their quality I always leave that up to those who read them, as I know I'm a biased judge of my own work one way or the other). My only hope now is that I can find the time to get them all out.

Looking forward to reading your works on the similar topics we might be covering, and wishing you the best of lucks with them. :)

Nothing wrong with strong ambitions. Thank you for your well-wishes, and likewise.
