A question regarding chapter length and the next chapter. · 10:47pm Dec 9th, 2022

Greeting dear Readers,

Although I usually use blogs to announce or answer certain questions and aspects of the story, I have a question for you.
What is your ideal chapter length? Usually, this story's chapters have danced around a span somewhere between 8 and 12 thousand words, but right now in the pipeline, not the next chapter to be released, has reached a count of 21k words, and it made me question the word count of the individual chapters. I would highly appreciate seeing rough estimations, or even spans you'd think are appropriate for the length of a chapter down in the comments.

As for when the next chapter comes out, that is hard to say. There are, as mentioned above, several chapters in the pipeline that need to have a look over for content and flow, then be edited once by myself, before my editor, ZeroOneInFinn, looks over it one more time. However time is a bit thin on my end lately, and that also caused the grueling task of overlooking the chapters in retrospect to appear even grimmer than before, and some technical issues have popped up here and there lately.

A definitive answer is not something I can give, but the very next chapter, a shorter one, is mostly edited.

Yours sincerely,
Zwillingen700

Personally, I have a hard time keeping focus on a chapter that’s over 15k

I would say about 9k is about a good even ground with a solid read time

I’ll read any length chapter. But 12k is a pretty good break point to keep everyone engaged and not feel rushed

Chapters around 10k or so are generally a good length in my mind

If I had to give an estimation I'd say 10k to 12k is a good pace for most people I'm usually good with any length though
