Not sure I'm going to be able to pull myself away from Sonic Frontiers. · 4:36pm Nov 15th, 2022

I believe I now realize how Frontiers got that 95% user rating.

The island titan fights. And the music that goes with them.

That's the first boss of the game.

The. First. Boss.

They put final bosses of the franchise's past to absolute shame.

I've managed to avoid spoilers so far, so I'd really like to finish it in the next few days.

Stop the talk of Sonic Adventure 3.

Bring on Sonic Frontiers 2.

Wow that must be a pretty epic first boss kind of like the sounding from the Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze boss fight

and that's the first boss

What are you playing on? PC? Console (which one)?

Hm, never been a PC gamer. I wonder if they have a trailer on Switch…

I truly hope these fights are as epic on the Switch's specs.

Because this game is beautiful in 4K.

Well the trailer itself looks pretty friggin' awesome. Here's the problem— I also have an XBOX Series S that I won in a raffle that I still haven't set up yet because a don't have a TV for the room I'm setting up all my systems in, and the graphics would probably look AWESOME on that. I have also explicitly been told that I'm getting said TV as a Christmas present, so I kinda have to wait… :raritycry:

Waiting is the hardest part.

At times like this I hate being poor and not having the money to buy this great game. I'm praying they give it to me for Christmas.

Dude, we have Adventure 3. It came out in '06, and it was ass. And the fact that you linked just the boss theme compels me to point out that it also had a great soundtrack.

Can't disagree though. It is more in line with what you'd hear from a Sonic final boss, like With Me, What I'm Made Of, or Open Your Heart, but it also sounds like something out of Devil May Cry or Metal Gear Rising.

And for me, it's not just the titan fights. I know a game is good when I put it down and I already want to pick it back up the next chance I get. And I was feeling that even before I got to Giganto, when it was just canvassing the overworld, doing the cyberspace levels, advancing the story.

Oh yeah I thought that was common knowledge; that even when the gameplay is terrible, the music carries it.

Personally, it didn't do that with 06. I tried that game in 2009, and I quickly gave up after three hours, because not nailing one of the very poorly programed jumps meant staring at a loading screen for 60-90 seconds.

I decided life was too short.
