Since I've Been Gone · 1:21am Nov 12th, 2022
Since it's been over a year since I last published anything on FimFiction, I thought it might be prudent to give a brief explanation of what's been going on. First off, I haven't stopped writing on a permanent basis, though there was a long period of time during which no writing happened. What I thought would be a brief break at the beginning of 2022 as I worked on other creative endeavors bled into a period in which I was working a lot of extra hours at my job, and then I was looking for and moving into a new house. By the time things had gotten back mostly to normal, it was August, and I hadn't written anything in seven months. Getting back into it was slow as I was rusty and had to get reacquainted with where I'd left my stories, but I have been able to write a few more chapters of Fallout: Equestria - Common Ground since then and am currently working on the next batch of chapters for Camaraderie is Sorcery. During the time I wasn't writing, I was still thinking about these stories and have a lot of ideas jotted down to work with, but the trick is actually getting these things turned into a narrative I'm happy with. I'm still committed to finishing at least these 2 stories, though at this point I've come to terms with the fact that I've functionally abandoned Darkest Shadows. I haven't written any chapters for it in over four years, but I've marked it as Hiatus rather than Cancelled in the hope that I might come back and add chapter in the future around Halloweens as a seasonal thing rather than an ongoing story that I work on in the same manner as my others.
Rather than disappearing for a year again, I'm going to try to post periodic updates here on what I've been working on in the meantime, possibly monthly, even if there are no new chapters to post, just so you know that I haven't abandoned things. There's still a lot I want to write and a lot of plans I have, so here's hoping some transparency might help you all see what's going on and what's coming.
Thanks for your patience
