Braeburn wakes up in the desert surrounded by the dead bodies of the 5 others in his posse. The suspect they were chasing, Butch Burgundy, left no visible trail to follow him by. A nearby buffalo named Tonto describes to Braeburn what happened to him and his men, and he offers his help to catch the criminal.
