Well, it arrived today, a full day ahead of schedule, perhaps even more, since I only paid for the 3-5 day shipping. But now, in my hands, I now have the essential fanfic dictionary that is "The Elements of Harmony" guide book.
Author of Science-Fiction and Fantasy novels! Oh, and some fanfiction from time to time.

So, my madcap weekend has ended, and things are slowly sliding back to normal. Well, as normal as they can get for me, anyway. My free weekend was a huge success, around 500 copies of "One Drink" were "sold" over the course of the weekend, which is an impressive amount! At least for me, a relative as yet unknown in the literary world. I hope those of you who got a copy are enjoying it. As much as I love Steel and the rest of the gang, Jacob Rocke
So, my blog post yesterday mentioned that my published novella, "One Drink," was going to be free for the weekend. Well, after almost 24 hours worth of it being free (out of 72), here's the results:
#6 on the Amazon.com Top 100 for Hard Boiled Mysteries
#43 on the Amazon.com Top 100 for Urban Fantasy
#917 on the Amazon.com Top 1000 free books (and there are a ton of free books on there, tens of thousands, to compete with)
So, as some of you may have noticed if you read through my profile, I'm a published author. I've got a book out that you can actually purchase. Except this weekend, you won't need to purchase it. "What's that?" you ask. "Did I read that correctly?" To which I reply YES!
This Friday through Sunday, my Novella One Drink is ENTIRELY FREE!
Well, with the latest chapter update we have the last member of the team, which means the last of the six character themes as well. Now most people probably aren't to big on themes, or would at least prefer that I get some completely original ones written by MLP fans, but when you're a newcomer, you don't have that kind of pull. That said, if anyone wants to try their hoof at it, I'm not going to turn them down.
Surprise!
Just so you know, I was already waffling on whether or not to throw this chapter up as a bonus. In the end, it being about half the size of a normal chapter, I just decided to give you guys some weekend awesome.
So enjoy the escalation. If you wondered what was going on, or where this story was going to move, well...
Now you know.
Well, it's happening again. I've got something going on this evening when I would normally be putting up the post for a midnight-ish release for those on the East coast, so TDG:R is just going to get another early update. Not a big problem, and probably more welcomed by those of you who are looking forward to the next chapter.
First of all, this isn't a joke. You can read an article about it here.
So what do I think of this?
