Hmm... nope.
I suppose I only get a notification when someone else replies to me or writes on my user page. It'd be really... pointless getting a notification that I replied to myself. For that matter, it'd be a really pointless getting a (or even two) notification(s) that I replied to myself on my own user page.
Well, thankfully there are no soliloquies necessary right now *g*
Of course I got a notification right now that you commented on my user page. Nevertheless, when you replied on my user page before (#271062, #271899), I only got a notification that you replied, not that there was a new comment on my user page. Hm. If I wasn't so confused, I would probably wonder why - that is pretty random for computer programs.
271908 Neat
I gues you could compile similar comments from around the site, or something
Interestingly, this only showed up as a reply for the comment I left on your page
not the one from my... oh, right the other comment may be from my page but you're replying to your own comment on your own page. Did you get a notification?270807 271899
Well, let's try this. What's the worst that could happen?
EDIT: Look at that. Clicking the link only sends me back to my user page, but the mouseover effect shows the correct comment.

Interesting idea
Happy to help
I'm still stumbling around myself, I've only got a few of the emoticons memorized (wouldn't have to, except private messages don't show the window for them anymore).
271062 Good to know I'm not the only one who's not exactly sure about that
So, there is a notification for replies as well as for comments on the own user page. Something else that I've learned. The comment ID seems unique enough, though, so it might be possible to even reply somewhere else... I think I'm gonna have to try that sometime.
Well, thanks for helping me learn new stuff about this site!
