Yesterday I was getting For Want of a Mask ready to update today, when I accidentally hit the "publish" button instead of the "edit" button before I'd actually written anything. So not only did that cause confusion on my watcher's updated fics list, it apparently stopped the story from making it on the Latest Updates box on the front page when I actually did update it this afternoon, since a story can only be on there once every 24 hours. Contemplating using the formatting of this site to a greater extent in my stories. To be exact, I'm thinking of putting in links at the beginnings of scenes and chapters to looped songs or other soundtracks that fit the tone and may enhance the feel of the story. I haven't seen that before, so I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Since my musical library is limited, any suggestions for songs or scenes to attach them to? I've taken the criticisms of my readers to heart and rewrote the last section of the first chapter. It will be a proper start to a story instead of a rushed self-contained one. I'm not sure how to go about it, though. My current plan is to post the revised version as a second chapter, so as not to rob people of the first draft if they liked it. How does that sound to all of you?

For those of you who haven't noticed or read it, have a new one-shot posted today: Dear Spike. Those of you who like the more serious parts of my stories may like it, though I am fully aware it has a problem with tone consistency. I intend to take a scalpel to it later; make it feel like the beginning of a story and make that problem go away. For now, hope some of you enjoy it for what it is.
