Mannulus

I'm a musician, songwriter, and erstwhile actor and improviser, with a BA in theatre and a minor in Latin. That's the short version.

It's done. · 8:14am Sep 11th, 2013

"Ghosts of Gods" is done. The last chapter went up earlier tonight.

I also went back and re-edited "The Greatest Day of Her Life." It's the most-read thing I've ever written, and I've gotten much better at editing and basic grammar since then. I reread it, and I just felt it needed it. There were no major changes of any kind. It was mostly just grammatical correction and rephrasing of some awkward sentences, here and there.

Ghosts Almost Finished · 6:19am Sep 9th, 2013

I had intended to post the rest of "Ghosts of Gods" tonight, but after having read the last two chapters, I feel they need a bit of a rework before they go up. I'm exhausted, so I'll make it happen in the next couple of days. Judging by the view counter, there are at least five or six people who have actually read all the way up to the current chapter. Thank you for that, if you happen to see this, and I'll post the rest as soon as I feel it's up to my standard. I'm making it my project

Adding Another Update · 10:34pm Sep 7th, 2013

I'm going to do a bit of editing to the next chapter of "Ghosts of Gods," and post it later tonight. I'm glad to see that the like/dislike ratio is actually improving a bit. I guess that's because I posted it in the Cockroach Club. I think Fiddlebottoms has left FiMFiction for good, but that group still exists, and the people in it are still just as creatively maladjusted as I am.

Updating tonight. · 7:09pm Sep 3rd, 2013

Gonna finish editing the next chapter of "Ghosts of Gods" tonight, and post. I'm starting to find how much people hate this thing amusing. I'm really curious to see just how many thumbs downs I can get. All the other stories I've written have been at least well liked by the few who have read them. I guess this was really just the one I wrote for me.

Well, "Ghosts of Gods" is up. · 3:52am Sep 2nd, 2013

And there are already four dislikes, and no likes. Either I made art, or I made shit.

If you follow me, would you please at least read the first couple of chapters, and drop a like on it to even things out, if you like it? If you don't, I obviously can't lay any obligation on you. It's just beer-and-pretzel fanfiction, but I worked pretty hard on it, and I at least want a few people to see what I did with it.

Thanks anyway,

Mannulus

"Ghosts of Gods" should post soon · 9:58pm Sep 1st, 2013

I'm doing final editing on "Ghosts of Gods." For those who don't know, that's the second full-length novel in "The Sun Eater" continuity.

Unlike the first book, I will be posting this one in installments, as I edit it, chapter by chapter. Don't worry, I don't mean to spread them out over weeks. They'll go up as fast as I can get around to them. I'm just ready to get part of this thing posted.

Best Bronycon Story, or Why I Am Now a Scootaloo Fan · 10:47am Aug 14th, 2013

I mentioned in an earlier blog post that I was at Bronycon.

It struck me, just now, that one thing I failed to mention in that post was something that I saw happen; something that I and only I, out of everyone at that convention, was probably aware of in its significance. It's a story that really ought to be told, so here I am to tell it.

You see, there's this girl, Madeleine Peters. She plays this pony named Scootaloo. You might have heard of her.

Back from Bronycon · 9:59am Aug 6th, 2013

Well, I went to Bronycon.

I got a ton of autographs, and If you're wondering whose I got, just look at the guest list. If he or she is on there, I got it, the one exception being G.M. Berrow, who was not present during the times I was able to go autograph hounding. I got some cool swag, to boot, including an original Andy Price sketch of Wheat Grass from the Rarity Micro Series.

Of course, I also went to some panels, heard some musicians at Bronypalooza; the whole deal.

No Stopping It, Now. · 8:08am Jul 24th, 2013

Well, shit.

During that brief period where I was trying to decide whether to do that second volume of "The Sun Eater," I wrote about three or four pages. Decided I didn't want to do it, but now I can't get what I wrote out of my head. What's worse, I keep going back and adding stuff.

I'm at like ten pages, already, and after I do some editing to the bits I've written so far, those ten will stretch into at least fifteen, and I don't even have a crisis, yet.

Considering Continuing "The Sun Eater" · 7:28am Jul 16th, 2013

I've been thinking this over, and at this point, my own grotesque little continuity is so far off-course from the actual show that there is very little I can see that should impede me from continuing it. It is after all, in many ways utterly unrelated to the show, by now. Not surprising, given that Hasbro-approved ponies do not generally do drugs, have obvious cases of post-traumatic-stress disorder, etc.
