Ponies for tolerance? · 12:10pm Nov 14th, 2015

Tonight, the world rallies together. Tomorrow, we'll start pulling each other apart in search of someone to blame.

The refugee camp at Calais has already been set ablaze, and I have no doubt that will only be the beginning. We're about to see a wave of violence against Muslims, Sikhs, Syrian refugees, and just about everyone who looks brown. In all honesty, I feel powerless. I don't think there's anything I can do.

But maybe, just maybe, there's something we can do.

Canon marches on · 3:28am Oct 30th, 2015

When I started writing Chitin, I wanted to write about ideas and concepts raised by the first two seasons, and I had zero interest in writing about season 4. I felt like I needed to acknowledge more recent developments, so I made it an AU splitting off at season 3.

I'm thinking of jumping ship · 9:39pm Sep 7th, 2015

I was always a little awkward in this fandom. At the point when I arrived, Game of Thrones was a spreading dark spot on the cultural landscape, and cute cartoon ponies felt like my only option if I didn't want fiction where life sucked and everyone died. Idealism was such a powerful tonic for me that I was willing to ignore everything else that bothered me, both in canon and in fandom.

How do you find a mod, anyway? · 7:43am Aug 17th, 2015

I'm thinking of leaving the Short Stories group, but no one else is moderating it at this point. My attempts to find a mod turned up nothing. I hate to see it get abandoned again, but I'm not sure what to do.

Don't expect to see much of me in the near future · 7:33pm Jun 24th, 2015

I figured I'd stay with my parents while I took a summer class to qualify for my CPA license. Long story short, my computer is now on the dining room table so they can see what I'm doing. I cannot write like this.

I'll find some workaround if someone needs me to edit, even if I have to get up at 5 in the morning. In the meantime, I'll pop in when I can to work on the Short Stories group. (I still need someone to help me recategorize all those stories . . .)

Welp, this is going to be "fun" · 8:20am Mar 18th, 2015

Because apparently Steven Universe was pure and innocent and nobody made porn of it until those filthy bronies came along.

Why I'm very glad I still post on FIMFiction · 5:17am Mar 1st, 2015

Not really a pony post, so feel free to ignore this unless you like seeing authors whine.

I post on some sites that have gotten really reactionary ever since Gamergate. I also post on some sites that have historically been relatively progressive. Lately, it feels like the reactionary sites are like:

I'm just a little swamped · 6:33am Jan 22nd, 2015

A bunch of the authors I'm following are letting everyone know they're still alive, so I figured I'd do so, too. I'm on antidepressants now, and they seem to be working. I'm just juggling some really homework-heavy classes lately, so I haven't had much time to moderate Short Stories, let alone work on Chitin. I promise it's not dead yet, and I hopefully won't be dead either by the time I finish this semester. :pinkiesick:

Non-pony: I wrote a thing! · 2:51am Dec 12th, 2014

It's called To Understand, and it's a Five Nights at Freddy's fanfic. It's only my second non-pony fic, and I'm pretty proud of it. (The first was a godawful Mass Effect fic that got sporked on Something Awful.) Anyway, I think I'm getting back into writing now, though I'll probably be pretty slow for a while.

Five more deadly words · 10:09am Nov 15th, 2014

You may have heard the eight deadly words: "I don't care what happens to these people." The idea is that if you're a writer, and someone says this about your book, it means they won't keep reading that book. Inspired by a comic book that implied one of the most likable characters was burning in Hell forever, I'd like to propose five more: "That was the bad ending."
