Hey, so I've been inspired recently to revisit this story, and so have made a few changes to the story as you know it (or don't).

The short version is that the end of the first chapter is significantly different(ish), and I now have a plan for the overall story. So, yay for that I suppose. It only took me a few days, but I've finished re-reading and re-editing the entire story. Honestly, there wasn't much that I changed, but I feel like it flows much better now. I made a number of spelling corrections, among other things, and did away with THS (Talking Head Syndrome).

Today, I have the grim task of acting as an usher to a funeral. The funeral is for none other than our Command Sergeant Major, the senior enlisted in our entire squadron. Yesterday, at the rehearsal, I almost lost it. When Taps sounded, followed by the 21 gun salute, it tore at something in me. This man was a leader, a mentor, a father, a husband, and a grandfather. We was a friend and an inspiration. Today, we mourn his passing.

His life was ended by his own hand.

Let that sink in.

Today is a sad day for me, folks. Today is the day that I decided to leave my wife and son. I cannot take it anymore. I've stuck it out for as long as I can. In the end, it comes down to this: I cannot reconcile my differences.

That said, I'm now single. Woo?
