I was playing with my son (a big step for me), and I took his hand in mine. I found it so poignant that I sought to preserve it with a picture. Once upon a time, my hand was the same size as his, and just as innocent. There weren't any of the scars that I have now, either physical or psychological. As the years went on, I feel like I've traded innocence for experience, naivete for wisdom. And all the while, my hands grew.
